IMO he alredy got best right foot korea, his left aint bad ether. we aint had pure bomer since Cha Bom, Son's gota cap sr NT and cut loose his right foot. this kid get free 1 sec 25 yds of gol he can drop bomb ether foot, we got no1 like this our roster Son aint never gona be Adu. Adu didnt gro and he aint fast for his size. Son's alredy biger, faster beter shot than Adu.

carvalho is on my list of most hated footballers along with terry...even before injury to son. i hate carvalhore with a passion.
More than a quick recovery I want a full recovery so that he isn't vulnerable to chronic injuries. He is young enough and not quite a key piece yet where they need to rush him back.
Freddie Adu, who made his professional debut in the MLS at the age of 14 but never really lived up to his hype and potential.
He would have changed American soccer forever if he lived up to his hype. The guy was hanging out with NBA stars and doing late night shows before he did anything special. US will have to wait for a homegrown worldclass footballer.
Fat chance. He's a quality player but not great and I don't see him making any large waves in any of the top Euro leagues even if he were to get a move to Europe at his age let alone any silverware or CL glory.
sorry for being a bit off topic but.. since Freddy Adu lived pretty close to me in Maryland, i went to a training session to see what all the hype was about. definitely had the skills at a young age but man was he overhyped. the way people talked about him i thought we were going to see the next Pele right here in the US. pretty much pulled a "Ryan Leaf"-esque stint on everyone
I think alot of these African players peak early. When they first saw Freddy, they thought he would develop into a monster. what they didnt realize is, players like him(who dont live up to their early potential) are a dime a dozen among african-born players.
Yeah but it was while he was with Chelsea. I don't like Real Madrid anyway so same story. Only a Korean joining RM would change that. I hope not though. Barca over RM if I could choose for the Korean.

Sounds about on track then. Great news. Do you know if they mean play as in participation in a full, competitive match or play as in a return to regular training?
They say he should resume light training in two weeks and, if there are no setbacks, ought to be ready for competitive play by mid-October.

I'm glad Hamburg got off to a good start against Schalke (in addition to having Raul, they have former K-League Brazilian standout Edu plays for them so I was looking forward to the match). Do you know what the current striker/attacking midfielder situation is like? Veh seems more given to trying out youth than some of the other coaches in Europe who have Korean talent so in this sense, Son has a wonderful opportunity -- but the injury was fairly serious and a setback to what must have been a great chance to get some regular playing. Do you anticipate what kind of role he might be given? Reserve time possibly or will he stick solely with the senior squad and get the odd substitute minutes?
It's hard to say at this point. There was (or still is) some sort of ruckus concerning striker Mladen Petric, who apparently was told to be surplus to requirements, but couldn't find a club that was willing to pay what Hamburg asked for. So while he might not be altogether out of the picture, his standing with Veh is probably not the best. Van Nistelrooy is undisputed, of course. That leaves Elia/Jansen on the left wing, Guerrero/Trowochski for the second striker/attacking midfield and Pitroipa/Son on the right side. So, nominally, the right wing is currently the weakest offensive position, which is a good thing for Heung-Min. As for the actual playing time he'll be getting, my guess would be that he might be sent down to the reserves for a game or two to regain match fitness and then he should be a serious contestant for the spot on the right flank (or possibly other positions, depending on injuries/form slumps). I hope Son can solidify his position within the squad until the winter break, when it is widely expected that Petric will be sold and a replacement would probably come in - Hamburg was allegedly poised to sign Basel's Shaqiri (who can play on both sides of the pitch).
