Martin Jol may champion Suk Hyun-Jun, but Jol is looking forward to Luis Suarez's return, as he feels Suk isn't ready to take on a full-time role:

    http://english.ajax.nl/News/Archive/Article/Ajax-loses-close-match.htm

From the article: Says Jol: “On Wednesday, the World Cup players return, Suarez included. I hope he’s 100% fit, especially since there’s not much cover on forward. Suk isn’t ready to be on forward full time. Siem can cover as a striker, but of course would prefer to play his own position.”

If there isn't much cover at striker... sounds like Suk will at least be on the first team roster all season long as an option assuming no strikers are added between now and the end of August?

Scored the first 2 goals today against Rijnsburgse Boys (Dutch Amateur team).
    Endscore 7-0.

Hope he will show us that he can do something against decent teams. He plays just to much like a young dog.

I don't think so. Not in the starting lineup.

He spills to much chasing the ball like a young puppy. He got a great technique but he is lacking so much tactic skills.

He certainly has great technique. He scores wonderful goals. Unfortunately against lesser teams, but he is still young and has certainly potential. Watch the two goals against Rijnburgse boys. Stunning first goal.

    Jol to stay

Martin Jol has confirmed he is to stay at Ajax - but Fulham have revealed the deal fell through after discovering an exit clause in his contract was no longer valid.

Former Tottenham boss Jol had indicated that he was ready to return to the Premier League as Ajax's financial difficulties meant star players would have to be sold but he has now said he will stay.

"Ajax told me they did not want to let me go and I don't think I can bring myself to leave Ajax at this time," he told the club's official website. "I came here last summer to be successful, to build a good team and to have fun, and those three things are what I am interested in achieving next season.

Wow I feel like a total idiot.

Every media was reporting Martin Jol was going to Fulham. It is a good decision because Ajax is in the Uefa CL qualifiers

Even when I said this it was tongue in cheek. I was convinced he'd leave as well, just in denial :)

It wouldn't have gone this far if Jol wasn't ready to leave, he in fact already agreed to personal terms but Ajax refused to let him go.

yes he said he really wanted to go but the negotiations ended when they discovered some clause in his contract that did not let him go. He wants to leave because apparently Ajax's debt means some star players will have to leave.

To be clear, Ajax isn't in debt. They incurred an operating loss of €21 million last season, but they are far from being in debt. They still have the highest annual budget in the Netherlands.

I see, thanks for the correction. I've read some articles that Ajax needs to sell some star players. Why is this? Is it simply because of last season?

10 years of mismanagement and unsustainable spending. Relying on transfers and paying the bloated salaries of foreign players rather than giving our own homegrown talent a chance in the 1st team. The list goes on.

Now we are in a position where we are forced to sell our top talent (Zlatan, Pienaar, de Jong, van der Vaart, Sneijder, Babel, Heitinga, Huntelaar, etc...) to keep the situation from getting worse...
