why not put in a bid for every available player. get your name in papers and as in as many clubs as possible. the net over years should be a plus.
Gudjohnsen would have been the type of DP that gobbled up money and did not perform in MLS up to his potential (a la beckham). You guys dodged a bullet, there are better, more dedicated players.
With our techical staff and what they get out of players, you may be right. However, i think if we had a different coaching staff Gudjohnsen could have been more like JPA.
Bump. Gudjohnsen is on trial with Seattle. https://twitter.com/joshuamayers/statuses/243114468794585088
I find it a bit strange that we never made a formal offer on him when Robb said we did. The following was on the latest Convey story on SKC's official site. http://www.sportingkc.com/news/2012/09/notebook-convey-hampered-hamstring-will-be-back No claim on Eidur If nomadic Icelandic forward Eidur Gudjohnsen signs with Seattle, Sporting Kansas City will have no objections and demand no remuneration. The club had an interest in Gudjohnsen at one time, Vermes told MLSsoccer.com on Thursday, but never made a formal offer. Earlier this week, Sounders GM Adrian Hanauer confirmed to MLSsoccer.com that Gudjohnsen would be training with his club. "We looked at him, but it never materialized," Vermes said. "It's not our philosophy to try to hold back a guy from another team. If we're not going to sign him, then it doesn't make sense for us to then hold him so nobody else can sign him."
