Did you see Tevez! I did not know if he was a defender or forward that poor guy was running up and down the field like a crazy man.
That was more a reply to the people attributing the good play by Germany to all being related to the Bayern. Not so, and the merit should go to Löw.
The reason Argentina lost was because their side was too top heavy with almost no midfield apart from Mascherano. If you're gong to play a 4-3-3 you should pretty much use 3 central midfielders, today Argentina had one central defensive midfielder in Mascherano and two wingers in Rodriguez and Di Maria (who is really a forward). It's no wonder they couldn't set up many chances for their forwards. I don't think Messi is a classic number 10 who sits behind the front two. He's at his best on the right wing, close to goal. He shouldn't be picking up the ball from the centre circle, it should be on the edge of the box. Veron should have played, he would have bought much needed stability to the midfield. Ideally Riquelme would have been there. Apart from 1978 and the Maradona years Argentina haven't done much at the world cup. They always look good in the earlier stages against the weaker teams but then choke against the bigger teams. Even in 1998 they were lucky to beat England in the second round. Apart from that result they have not beaten a major team in a World Cup since 1990.

i remember the first time i googled him coz he kinda looked odd, and i was like ok seriously from where is this guy , i know he is german but i kinda wanted to know his origins , no disrespect to him or anything but i just think he looks kinda creepy
From what I saw, Argentina was bombarding Germany throughout the match. At times it seemed Argentina would actually manage to turn the score around and win it. It was not until the last 20 min of the game that the Germans started pulling away. By that time you could see that the Argentinean players were spent. It was apparent in their faces right before the second goal was scored. In my opinion the German players won this game not on skill or strategy but pure physical condition. If Argentina would have had the luck of scoring one goal when they were outshooting the germans the texture of the game would have been totally different, but not saying the final result would have been necessarily different.
From Wikipedia Podolski was born to Waldemar Podolski, who played professional football in Poland and won the Polish championship in 1980 with Szombierki Bytom, and to Polish Krystyna Podolska, a former member of the Polish national handball team in the Silesian industrial town of Gliwice (near Katowice), Poland. In 1987, when Łukasz Podolski was two years old, his family emigrated from Poland to West Germany
Again from Wikipedia Klose was born in Opole, Poland. Both of his parents were active in sports[3]; his mother, Barbara Jeż, was a member of the Poland women's national handball team. His father Josef Klose played professional football in Poland for Odra Opole, before leaving then communist Poland in 1978 and moving to France to play for clubs like AJ Auxerre. In 1985, Miroslav and his mother joined him in Kusel, Germany. Klose's father is from an ethnic German family and thus they were permitted to settle as Aussiedler in West Germany. Klose holds German nationality.[
Anyone agree Romero sucked in net in both games? You need a good keeper to keep your world cup hopes alive, Romero was garbage.
Seriously, who cares where a player is from or what his heritage is??? Come on guys. Why does this constantly come up after a Germany match?
It's a lot worse with France. In a way, it's better to lose, just not to hear all the whining about having so many "dusky" players in your team. It's like living in the friggin' 30s.
This. At the end of the day they wear a Germany shirt and that's all that matters. The fact they are actually German should make this a moot point.
Incredible performance. They made Argentina look 2nd rate and that is no easy task. Well done Germany, your young team is going to be amazing for the future and can probably win it all now!
People look to find something to stow the legitimacy of a win any way they can, even if it's coming from someone who is a follower of a national team filled with people not born in their country.
Why are people banging on about Ozil, Khadeira, Podolski and Klose's origins? They were all raised in Germany and learnt their skills there. You could say the same of Argentina and all South American countries, i.e they have players of European origin and African origin. Both of which are not native to the Americas.
People always say you're team is young, "You'll win it all". In 2006 Argentina had a young team, that should have won it all this year. Well Maradona came, so we'll never know what the other path could have been with a real good coach from Argentina. Teams of the moment win world cups, not teams of destiny.
Sure. But people seem to only focus on the players with different skin colours. Everyone ignores the players like Klose and Podolski.
