If I had the power of the FMF, I would take advantage of England's anger and begin a strong bilateral protest and FMF/EPL boycott until there are 2 more refs added and replay technology given.

Hopefully other federations and leagues would agree and FIFA would have to budge.

No me queda duda que esto es corrupcion.
What other reason is there to deny the refs a quick 20 second replay?
    Pierden mas tiempo alegando.

I don't buy the crap that it would somehow "Americanize" the sport. It is not fair that teams work so hard for 4 years to be robbed by these fools.

    Mexico lost for 3 reasons:

1- The offside made the experiences players loose their heads. The players who are supposed to lead the team &keep the team focused and functioning, "Rafa, Torrado, Osorio, Bofo" they completely lost their marbles after that play and their attitudes led to the debacle not the ref!!

2- Childish mistake from Osorio. I feel sorry for him but mistakes like that are unacceptable especially in the World Cup. Even Maza back in the pre PSV days would not make that mistake.

3- Aguirres shite decision to insist on playing slow ass players like Bofo, Cuau, Guille from the start. Those guys completely slow down the rest of the team which from the midfield up are all speedy. Vela, Gio, Chicharo, Guardado, Barrera, Juarez. He had 2 guys on the bench who could of been much better choices, Barrera and Venado both very fast. Bofo, Cuau, and Guille are perfect subs late in the game with fresh legs and tired defenders.

What pisses me off is that we saw #3 happen against South Africa and Uruguay and a little against France. Why a coach would insist on playing someone who has done nothing in previous games (guille) is beyond me.

So that's Ireland, Mexico, England, and probably the nads too.

I hope someone has the persuasiveness to organize something among the federations.

If any of you on BS is a good writer, maybe we as fans should start sending letters to the federations giving this idea and adding more pressure to them to react.

We have to do it soon while it's still fresh in their memory.

These highway robberies are getting ridiculous.

the entire WC has been tainted by horrible refs

    it's ridiculous

almost as bad as 2002, but that was just in Korea's favor

this year it has affected already at least 3 teams (Nads, Brits, and Mexico)

Am I being a bit too exaggerated if I point out that Brazil and Argentina were put in different brackets and have been getting questionable calls?

Luis Fabiano hand ball, grotesque offside etc.

I'm sorry, it's just everything FIFA does now makes me suspicious.

dont forget GREECE against argentina..argentinas 1st goal was a handball by milito and argentina scored...nor did the ref see that!
mexico was raped by the refs *linesmans offside on the first goal.
how much did argentina pay the linesman and ref in favor for them to score the first goal?

    Don't count on it.

FIFA stays silent on world cup referees errors.

FIFA cracks down on stadium screen broadcasts.

FIFA refuse to defend stance on use of technology.

FIFA says Argentine goal replay was a mistake.

With at one point a three goal lead, Argentina didn't really need to hold onto the ball anymore. They could just sit back and defend, there by allowing Mexico to pad its possession time. Being down by those same goals, Mexico was obligated to start shooting more, and a lot of those were long range shots (Mexico had five shots more than Argentina) that towards the end of the game were no threat. Mexico had three more corner kicks then Argentina but Mexico rarely seems to use them anymore, theyd rather pass to a teammate that returns the pass to the guy that took the corner kick or pass it off to yet another teammate. Soccer is about taking advantage of the moments you get. Argentina was able to do that, Mexico couldnt.

What more could be said, it was a good 50/50 game where we had some good chances and Argies had almost no chances until that offsides gol

Then the team lost their way and confidence and we deflated

I think this game could have easily been Mex 1 - Arg 0

we had messi contained, Tevez and Higuian hadnt really showed much either

after the score is when they gain their confidence to attack more

Like Aguirre said, its a shame that so many months of hard work gone to waste by a mistake coming from a linesmen.. Its hard to bounce back after something like that happens. It takes a few mins to get the anger out and go back to your game plan. Unfortunate Osorio had a blunder, it looks like he was trying to cut back, but he lost control of the ball.

Mexico looked good before the 1st goal. And i really felt they could have won. Mexico just needs that lucky bounce to go their way, i bet if Argentina took the shots that Guradado, and Salcido took they would have gone in. We lack the lucky bounce.

I also noticed how every dam rebound went Argentina's way. Tevez goal was from a bounce coming off TWO Mexican players seriously wtf!

We had our chances. Once again los ya merritos.

I don't mean to single you out but I've seen a similar idea expressed by other people on here.

Mexico is not "less lucky" than other teams.

Yes, Mexico had a bad call go against them but that's futbol; it goes either way. Futbol is not a fair or just sport. If somehow you could reverse the situation I'll bet that Argentina would have reacted better than Mexico. As much as Argentina's defense is criticized I don't think they would have shit their pants like Osorio did.

Regarding the shots that Mexico didn't make, that's because, unfortunately, Mexico doesn't have the talent that Argentina has. Mexico has not had a striker since Hugo Sanchez who can compare to Tevez. Mexico was stuck starting an old Argentine reject who played two World Cups without a goal. Don't get me wrong, I'm not crapping on Mexico. They're a good team, but not great. The future looks bright, assuming the youth can find, stay, and play at top clubs in top leagues.

The reason it seems that bounces go Argentina's way is because overall when they attacked it was much more dangerous than Mexico's attacks, and Mexico's defense is weak. Those 50-50 balls are more likely to be won by an animal like Tevez than Osorio (ha) or Maza.

In a way, I think one can make their own luck. Through the application of sheer will and determination one can make circumstances more favorable and ultimately take advantage of any opportunities that present themselves.

Mexico was in the game until the first major mistake: Conejo spit the ball back out to Messi.

Then, soon after, the second major mistake: Osorio lost his mind.

Mexico cannot expect to beat more talented teams if it makes major mistakes.

To me, the worst part of this loss is that Argentina looked ugly. This is not the smooth futbol of Copa America 2007.

Nonetheless, I'm proud of the youth and the way they kept their heads up after the third goal. Hopefully these guys don't inherit they mentality of guys like Osorio, Torrado (who looked like he was going to cry in the 2nd half), Rafa, etc. I had much greater hopes for this team, but the coaching staff never gave them the best possible opportunities to succeed.

Moving forward I hope the FMF takes the next 4 years seriously putting winning above all, one can dream.

Any time a team has to foul excessively (3x more btw) it is a sign they are losing control of the game.

Argentina didn't "dominate". But they were better than Mexico. We laid the 4-4-2 trap and you walked into it.

You have Hernandez to look forward to... he's really good.

Can you explain the 4-4-2 trap that Mexico walked into?

The tactical analysis that I've read doesn't mention this at all.

More than anything the tactical criticism has been placed on Mexico starting Bofo Bautista, playing Gio so deep in the midfield, having a weak defense, and an inability to produce viable scoring opportunities.

I'm not taking anything away from Argentina, without a doubt Argentina is a better team. But I'm starting to wonder if the tactics of the Argentines fall short of the great talent found on the squad.

I just don't think Argentina has looked particularly good. Argentina wins, but it's not pretty; it's not what I expect from them.

Look - Argentina sucked by Argentina standards.

This was a defensive game for Argentina. Rather than attack all the time, they held back and waited. The numbers show Mexico got 50-50 possession, and Argentina rarely if ever concedes possession.

Yes, very suspicious. Did the refs not have time to see the replay on the bigscreen while on the sideline. They saw it! They were both also getting some feedback in their earpiece from someone not on the field! They kept on listening to someone on their earpiece! What was said to them? Only they know. Someone told them what really happened, and they seen it on the bigscreen and still made the wrong call?!!! What is really going on? Does FIFA want the big guns left in the tournament going to the end just cuz Italy, France, and England are no longer their and they don't want all the power teams out? What a bunch of BS!!!

Argentina was able to take advantage of what was given to them alright. An ilegal goal that demoralizes ANY team. And also a free bee that was given to them by a defender that after he let the South African forward get past him and scored should have never seen the field again. Hector MOreno was left on the bench!! What kind of dumb decision was that?

I see what you are saying and I agree to a certain point. It's just we will never know what would have happened if the sideline ref would'nt have made that bad call. We were controlling the game up to that point. Could we have kept on doing it if that call would have never happened? We will never know. We did lose control after the bad call. I know we are not the team Argentina is, but we really got screwed in a game that everyone was confident could have went the other way. Congratulations on your win and I can't have any bad feelings towards Argentina, if the call was the other way around we would of taken advantage of it too.

But there was close to an hour of game time left. And there was no way the refs were going to take it back. All that was left was to man up about it and keep playing. Mistakes are a part of the game, if they werent no one would score. Osorio's was especially damaging, but again there was still some time get back into the match. Losing your head over a single play helps no one.

I don't disagree that losing your head is also part of the problem. But it's a bit too much to ask of the team to against Argentina make up two goals. IMHO they could of probably lived with just Osorios mistake, but when you get screwed as well that's two down and it makes it that much harder. I am not taking anything away from Argentina, they did what they had to do, it's just very disapointing to have so much hope in this team and then get screwed over by the refs, Osorio (who should not have been in the game over Moreno), Bofo's lazy ass(who also should never have been on the field), and the lineup mistakes made by Aguirre.

Bofo gave the ball to Messi which led to the goal.
