Why did the PBP thread get shut down?

Anyway, the offside goal was definitely a deciding factor in the game. Unfortunately, the Mexicans got rattled when that happened, and never really recovered.

Still, it's hard to argue that Argentina did not deserve the win. ARG - GER on Saturday should be a good one.

No flamming no trolling. Game decided by refs. Solid performance by Messi.

Insane and IMO better team of Mexico is going home. IMO extremely average game Arg:Ger

Ref made a very very stupid call
Osorio commited suicide for the team
Tevez laid the last nail in the coffin

I thought this was his worst match out of the four they've played. Mexico marked him out well, can't say the same about their defense on Tevez.

Kind of a shame the first goal marred the rest of the game. Mexico were rattled the rest of the half and it cost them.

86' 3-1 #14 Javier Hernández picks off a ball at 45m left, sprints to 25m center as Argentina scrambles back. Drops off to #17 Giovani Dos Santos at mid-left, who advances a bit, then passes in time to box top left. Backpass out of a 1-v-2, to #3 Carlos Salcido at 40m box left, while Argentina finally regroup at their own box top, and about 3 mowed stripes completely empty. And Salcido takes a shot from there  way wide right. #11 Tévez says: "That's too far -- even for me --

Meh. Grats Argentina, but Messi looked pretty average and your GK is the worst in the WC. I've never seen such a slow GK. I'd be more concerned about Tevez than the massively overrated Messi.

Mexico is in no way a better team than Argentina.

The Germany vs Argentina game this Saturday will be a classico.

    It's official

I am rooting against any team that is getting that level of referee towing. Unfortunately I don't think it will matter much. FIFA will probably get the match-ups they want.

I think it got moved to the recycle bin by a moderator for some reason. They probably meant to move a few posts, but accidentally moved the whole thread.

Mexico has no place in the 1/4s with players like Franco or Bautista.
And I think a taller keeper would have saved the 3rd goal.

Congrats to Argentina, but they have not faced a decent team yet.

They have fast proactive game and decent defense. Good middle that stomped Argentina. I didn't think that before but now I do think Mexico were hidden favorites.

even if the refs made wrong calls, it didn't affect the game in it's outcome. after the offside goal by argentina, was is Arg or Mexico who made another 2 goals? Why did not England instead of germany shoot 2 goals?? you see, the better teams won today. can't wait for ARG - GER!!!

Bad call by the ref. However, Mexico was clearly outclassed.
