11th place, just 8 points back from the playoffs. Doubt we'll make it but I'd like to end off with about 65 points or so on the season. That's the dream. If we did make the playoffs and get into the Premier League , well we're just not ready yet. Don't wanna repeat of our last go up there.
We are certainly not ready to go up. For a promoted team to be succesful, you need a nucleus of a young team and then buy a few 3 or 4 players of real quality, not several players of championship quality to get a bigger squad without improving the quality, which is what we did last time. However, if we went up, came straight back down, spent very little, we would be £48m better off including parachute payments, which leaves us better placed to launch a stronger promotion bid.
Or we could fail in that next promotion bid and end up with a bunch of talent we could hardly pay for, the championship ain't no cake walk.
Well it all starts again soon. It will be a massive task to start again after the bitter disapointment in failing to qualify for premier League. I await the first team sheet as I am sure there will be a lot of changes from last seasons squad.
