All these players have been continuously playing at the top level and acting like professionals not letting personal shit like drugs, booze and girls get in the way...THAT is the difference.

    Re: Ivan Kaviedes

Dude Kaviedes is not even something to talk about any more. He's the past...we gotta move on from all those older dudes.

In this Qualifier that's to come, we MUST have a brand new defense and a brand new pair of forwards.

to be honest, as much as I hate Benitez and Caicedo for the bs they did this past Qualifier, THEY are now the guys with the experience. They obtained 4 years of experience, w/e the case may be, and are now considered the ONLY forwards we have with experience. So for starters, we can't deny them an opportunity once we get a new coach and the restructuring of the team begins. That doesn't mean we can just hand them a starting spot either. NOW, there will be competition up front and we'll finally get to see whose worth keeping on the squad and not. Last Qualifier, Benitez and Caicedo remained up front b/c we didn't have where to choose from. With players like Marlon De Jesus emerging in the scene (who has completely different characteristics from any other forwards we have PERIOD) and Jaime Ayovi (who hopefully continues doing well at Emelec) our options are increasing. And to those names you can add Montero, Rojas and even Cristian Suarez and Edison Preciado. We somehow have to find the best combination up front and make these guys feel that there IS competition for a starting position.

Is that the way some of you guys feel about Kaviedes, fine. As for me, I feel that if he sticks to the program, he could succeed and play at the National level. I am not saying that he is the solution but he is somebody to have in mind at the right moment. He still has something in his tank and hopefully, he is taken in consideration.

He hasn't stuck to the program in the last 6-7 years...what makes you think he is ready to do that now???

    Re: Ivan Kaviedes

He needs time. I believe that this is his last chance at playing fútbol and he does not want to f..k up. Do you know what I mean? If he is having some problems with some people at this moment that is nothing to the problems that he had before. He is trying and so far he has done pretty well. Macará is not doing well but individually, Kaviedes has good stats and that is what counts. I am watching him when I get a chance and if I knew that he was not playing well, I would say so. So far, he has.

Yeah duh I agree with that point, he is playing well with Macara his off the field problems are minor compared to the past... lets just cut him some slack he seems to be trying here and putting in the effort necessary. The guy still has a great touch and don't underestimate the importance of this.

Emelectric... Where is La Canchita de Tierra? I agree, Kaviedes still could bring a lot to the table. He could create immediate changes during a game with an assist or a goal. At this time of his career, I think he is able to help more with an assist. Of course, the National Team has to have a deadly scorer. If not, anybody that could assist in Ecuador, would be a waste of talent. I still remember the times that Benitez was playing for the World Qualifying games and he missed so many goals that could have helped Ecuador to qualify for this World Cup. What a disgrace!!!

true that,he never reached that milestone that would have made him a great player, some peoples internal demons gets the best of you.I think ,if he statrs to be in good form and shows some promise and discipline rueda should take a look, the guys instinct and his technical skils are some of the best I've seen in an Ecua player.he can be useful as a sub,hes been there before, lets see what he can do when the league starts.

So he never signed for that club in Qatar. I wish I could work only a couple months a year like this guy.
