South Africa should have won...el poste!!! Drama right there. But hey, these things happen. Anyway, this result hurts Mexico more than South Africa...I don't think Mexico can beat Uruguay or France.

Yeah, But once the tournament starts, I expect their demons to be exorcised. The team is loaded with big names and solid players...and they have their backs to the wall.

that's exactly what I said to myself

You can see mexico doesn't have any goaleador up front. it reminded me of our NT. Should have been South Africa's win, but I doubt Mexico makes it out of group stage.

and France better sh*t on las ninas celestes. f*ck uruguay

German Players Buy Tickets For Local Children

ERASMIA, South Africa (AP)—The Germany team has bought 300 tickets for each of its three World Cup group matches that will be distributed to local schoolchildren.

The children from poorer areas in the cities of Durban, Port Elizabeth and Johannesburg will be driven by bus to the games, given food at the stadiums and then driven back. They will be accompanied by teachers.

The tickets cost the team a “six-digit” figure, according to team spokesman Harald Stenger.

Any good Spanish-language internet radio broadcasts, so I don't have to listen to the ESPN British guys or the Univision clowns?

WOW I can't believe its been four years since we saw Ecuador beat Poland 2-0 in the World Cup opener! And to believe that we aren't in this tournament makes me a bit sad, but on a side note it makes me want to go for teams that may have not had a chance to qualify last wrold cup when Ecuador did. On to the subject of South Africa vs Mexico, the Mexicans had nice possession the majority of the time, just like Ecuador has but they missed way too many easy oppurtunities that it wasn't even funny!

I think South Africa is gonig to make a difference this world cup and I hope they do they deserve it! I think they played good today,it would be nice for a change if an African team or a team besides A European or South American plays a good tournament. An as for Uruguay vs France I hope Uruguay wins I prefer them to win than the French, the French are way too overrated and it honestly kills me!

Good defending by Uruguay. I would have wanted Anelka to stay on with either Henry or Cisse. And it's obvious that Malouda needs to start.

Malouda didn't start because Domenich was upset at him for something or another and they had a disagrement.

    Henry should start with Anelka.

    France - Zidane = FAIL!

Besides Franck Ribery I think that France was just flat out terrible! I don't like their team this year and it wouldn't surprise me if South Africa beat them, South Africa looked alot better than France today. I would like to see South Africa pass to the next round with Mexico. But seriously though these were pretty boring opener games, there was alot of scoring oppurtunities but all four teams kept neutral ground with each other and they didn't allow goals in.

Last opener in Germany 2006, there were a total of 8goals scored. Todays opener only were two goals scored.

France is gonna beat Mexico I don't think Mexico will getting out of the group it's a tough group, but hey, shit happens lol. South Africa played better then I thought. France could very well not even make it out of the group. Uruguay well we wouldn't of done any better, France is a tough nut to crack . I am going for Uruguay hopefully they'll make it through the group but any team can surprise in the group it just takes a lucky break.

I agree though I don't want France to go through because they are always getting lucky by playing shitty. But I was also surprised by South Africa they were very impressive, looks can be deceiving because I always thought they were terrible because of their low fifa rankings around the 60s and and even being ranked in the 70th postions before like about four years ago. But, South Africa are a tough nut to crack and I hope that they make it out of their group they are talented and thats no lie.

I don't really care about the England - US game, probably going to end in a draw. I'm really excited about the Arg - Nig game, can't wait to see Maradona and his team in the biggest stage. Something tells me that they will have luck on their side.

Well, the media here hypes the game naturally because it's the US vs. England....Even I told my dad earlier today that the game of the day is going to be Argentina-Nigeria.

Excellent match by South Korea. Greece picked it up at the end....a shame it took them 70 minutes to get into rhythm. Now Argentina vs. Nigeria...the TRUE match of the day.

Right now, I would like to say that I'm even angrier that we didn't make it to the World Cup b/c every team that's played so far isn't notably superior to us. And the number of mamones right now in every NT is just surprising me. I think the Ecuador from the Qualifiers, as weak as it seem (at least to us) up front and in defense, wouldn't have much of a problem in groupe stage if we would have qualified.

I'm watching US and England tie right now and still can't believe Emile Heskey missed that 1 on 1 shot with Howard LOL the mamon syndrome has been transmitted to the World Cup.

Haha I noticed that too, what's up with all the mamones at the world cup this year? That's like three freaking ties in the World Cup and the most goals scred so far is 2goals! Wow I really never noticed how many natioNAL TEAMS HAVE MAMONES UNTIL NOW.\

And worst part is that we could have stood a chance against many of these teams including England if we had qualified!******** this pisses me off!
