I´m going to my favorite Cigar Shop for this one, I know that it is a disgusting habit, but for some reason, Cigars and soccer goes together in my mind.

Here is my prediction, the US will win, or maybe England, unless they draw, surely one of those 3 will happen, you can quote me.

Good luck USNMT friends from one of the 'Diablos Verdes' on this board. : )

I need you to advance out of the group stage. Mexico's golden generation will be in it's prime in Brasil 2014 and we would like to be seeded. Don't fk it up. You to Honduras. Thanks!!!

1st or 2nd in the group and we get another crack at Germany or Ghana to get some redemption for 2002 and 2006. I think we punk England with a win or tie, but lose on goal differential to be second in the group.

    1776 . . . 1812 . . . 1950 . . . . we're due in 2010: the heart says US 2, England 1.

The head says the US defense and mids need to play the game of their lives and keep England in check. Who knows what Bradley will put out there but expect speed up top to try and beat the England defense. I suspect the first 20 minutes could decide this one as we will see if we are outclassed early.

I think this game is far more important than most realize for the US. England is a bit banged up and so I'm not sure this is the squad everyone thinks it is for the Brits. A point or three is there for the taking if the U.S can keep the ball out of its own net.

While we are the underdog, it is important to get a point OR to keep the goal differential to a minimum in a loss. A loss to England will probably mean a practical elimination game with Slovenia in game 2, and even a tie there forces a must win in Game 3 while England will have likely already qualified for the second round and may not have much to play for vs. Slovenia in the final group game.

The U.S has to have the mindset that it will win 2 games and advance not rely upon sneaking in at 3 or 4 points on goal differential.

Dynamo to win... I have to support the home team.

That will be a great game. It's cool to see the international scene come to "the biggest small town" ever.

Still, I voted that he was a big girls blouse... too funny

OT, but one of the most impressive things about going to the Alamo is seeing the flags of all the other states and countries that fought in that battle.

I think 1812 was the last time the French actually substantially contributed to winning war effort, now they just go in reverse in their tanks.

And hey, we tried in 1998 to bring in a French ringer in David Regis and look how that turned out!!

Prediction: Wayne Rooney awarded red card in first half of USA match for pulling out tire iron and swinging at Landon Donovan.

For some reason, I started wondering where Rooney would get this tire iron of which you speak, but then I realized that you're obviously assuming Peter Crouch will be on the field, and therefore, he will be concealing said tire iron in his sock, a la Terrell Owens and that Sharpie...

After putting all the pieces together, it makes sense!

Or Rooney could get a similar effect to the tire iron, simply by swinging Peter Crouch at Landon.

Based on what I just saw from Greece and the general complaints about how far the Jabulani flies, I hope we are not planning around long balls or set piece headers (the goals off set pieces so far are kicked shots after the ball flies over most everybody).
