Does the fact that we played almost all backups mean that BB has absolutely no idea who he wants to take outside of the handful of players in the luxury box? If he does have some idea, doesn't it make more sense to put them in with closer to a starting lineup? Aside from set pieces, I think we had maybe one decent shot and scarce possession (not that our "starters" do much better)? Is that a good way to evaluate how these players will fit in during SA? To begin to gel the team?
well, you can limit the chances of both by telling bob to stop smoking (cancer) and cut off relationships (AIDS) with those two guys
I wish Omar Gonzalez was given a look months ago. The problem, as I see it, is that we were overly reliant on a healthy Gooch and never looked much at options on the left beyond Pearce and Bornstein.
I don't know how you can blame Bob for this. Can you name an American left back playing anywhere (of decent quality) that Bob didn't give a chance to?
So you think picking 3 games which you could quite conceivably lose, right before the world cup is smart? Need to get some confidence in being able to tear apart a team imo. Your final game should have been someone easy.
"Lack of speed anyday?" Did you see Walcott on the right wing against Mexico on Monday? He's gonna make Boca look like an orange cone.
We've been looking for a good left back since sometime circa 1989. We haven't really ever found one. IIRC, Steve Sampson tried to convince John Harkes to play left back prior to his being cut from the team.
It killed me listening to Harkes and Adrian speculating on who's making the final cut. It really doesn't matter since we only have about a dozen or so quality players.
And I wish that we could have put Hahnemann in there. Guzan was horrible. Guzan needs to go down to 3rd string.
1. Ej should have gotten more time 2. Holden is overrated and should never start after this world cup when we have our full roster. 3. Guzan blows cock, we should have brought in Friedel instead of being stubborn. 4. Bring in Adu 5. Torres, goodson, and Beaz played well 6. I was dissappointed in Pearce, but i still think he is better than Bornstien.
