Ah... good question. When these posters went up in the Hoboken PATH station there WAS an Angel poster. But then they all went away. The others (Dane, Mac, Seth, and the kid...erm... oh Jeremy Hall) are all still up. Mysterious, that. If anyone knows the deal on this I'd be curious to know. I'd say that RB did a good job with the media buy on this one as the entire station from the NJTransit trains down to the PATH platform was almost entirely blanketed (and really still is)
I think Angel wants to go to River Plate, still has dreams of playing for Colombia, he may be on the way out if the Red Bulls sign their dream players Henry Del Piero Raul
Yeah and I think Angel is quality... but there is a harsh reality in there where he might only barely qualify for a DP slot... I really think Backe could look at Angel and see it as a waste of a DP slot... and Argentina would be a good a place Juan Pablo to go, but I don't think we'll see him leave until another DP comes in and settles. who do you guys think is the most likely DP to arrive? My money and hopes would be on Henry. A) I think he has more gas in the tank than Raul or ADP and B) He'd really embrace being a New Yorker. He loves it here.. ADP and Raul would just be coming for a few more paychecks, Henry would care about building a legacy and putting his heart into it. We've also been linked with Mellberg. What do you think about using a DP slot on a CB?
I'm fine with using a DP on a CB as long as he's a big upgrade over Petke for the money. In my mind, we need a creative midfielder as a DP as a first priority, then a DP forward, and other positions after that. It depends on how many we ultimately use. I am not in favor of having three forwards as DPs like Angel, Henry, & Del Piero or whatever.
Not to be a troll but I think Angel's playing days for Los Cafeteros in yellow are over. There is a slim Chance he gets called up for the Copa America in Argentina, but I doubt it. Going to River or Atl. Nacional are options though.
I'm not fine with it. You don't need DP money to sign good defenders. DP should be attacking and creating players.
I agree. There are plenty of good American defenders, but there are fewer quality attacking midfielders and strikers from the US. DP money is best spent on improving our attack.
the one problem with this stadium i have is the players benches. They were obviously willing to spend the money i would have like to see them do something like old trafford where the players are in with the fans in the car seets but other than that spectacular stadium.
they do have the car type seats. http://www.zimbio.com/pictures/AME_...Press+Conference/yt97WJFJF3e/Juan+Pablo+Angel
The Red Bull Arena player seats are still pretty darn good. Slap on an Audi logo and you basically have the same thing if that's what you're looking for...
Not much of a car guy are you? Big diff between Recaro's and what RBNY has. Those are more like upscale home theatre seating.
What does it have to do with cars? Those seats aren't racing seats, they're just big comfy seats made by Recaro. I've sat in them at VW Arena in Wolfsburg. Yes, they were nice, but I highly doubt they're anything better then what NYRBs sit in.
That's for sure, plus I think soon we'll all start to see more teams move away from the aluminium benches. I'm not 100% on what kind of bench Toronto is now using, have not been able to see any good pictures of their seating, but I think it's some kind of seating setup also. Philadelphia and Kansas City will also have players seating that's almost in the stands with the fans as in some stadiums in England.
Wow! Tough crowd. I was just having fun, and it wasn't about one style being better than the other, just that they're different. As far as I've seen, all Recaro seats, inculding the stadium and office seating, are styled like ergonomic auto racing seats. That said, as nice as the Recaro's are, I think what RBA has is more practical.
Tough? I don't think my response was in any way offensive, or at least it certainly wasn't meant to be read that way.
