Hi - Ok - as you can see, the forums are now live in the new version. We don't have screenshots up there but hopefully someone will be kind and post them (I don't have an iPhone to hand but can get one if no one else can do this easily). There should be a lite version from I understand: you should be able to switch between the lite and full version. Are you not seeing that?
Ok - my understanding after checking in with a couple of people is that this is not possible right now. We don't currently have plans to include that, but we can definitely keep it in mind for the future. It would help push it up the priority list if there was a sense that many users found this important.
I took these with the screen capture function on the iPhone. The first 2 are really on long scroll of what you see once you log in. (obviously, it's continues way beyond just these two). The third is what it looks like once you go to a specific forum - in this case, Customer Service.
Ah cheers. Well I'll go ahead and give it a shot then. I've certainly spent more money before on apps I ended up not liking.
Agreed....having mobile access is supposed to make it easier to access when away from a computer. How are we supposed to navigate the forums to get back to where we left off? Just keep flipping pages until we find it? No thanks... Being able to navigate directly to the first new post in a particular thread that you follow is one of the greatest features of BS.....why would you eliminate that?
While the "My BigSoccer" page is not there, clicking on the blue arrow still takes you to the last unread post in any thread.
This is why others like myself have asked for the BS admins to install the free tapatalk plugin. The app that works with the plugin is designed specifically for vb boards with full functioning access and navigation designed for touchscreen that's actually better than navigating on computers. The quick access to subscribed/favorites threads and the ability to easily add photos rounds out a solid app. Also, it can be set to jump to new posts Why they can't install the free tapatalk plugin instead of having to design and code their own app is beyond me. Why they can't also install the free tapatalk plugin in addition to their app is also beyond me. Frankly, I already have enough apps that are supposed to do the same sort of things as it is. Having a BS specific app when I already have tapatalk and it could handle BS as well is lame.
Um, dunno if I'm missing something, but when I go to the forums in the app and click on "Premier League Clubs", rather than a list of the Premier League team forums, I only get a list of the threads at that level.
Ditto. Without being able to get to the first unread post, there's no way I'll be using the app to browse the forums. And without being able to usably browse the forums, there's no way I'll buy the app.
Why would you want to go to the LAST unread post? What usefulness is there in that feature? If I understand correctly, this will take you to the last post in the thread...which would be the LAST unread post. So...once you get to the last post, you then have to page backwards to find the last post that you did get to read, and then you start forward reading again. IMO, that's a useless feature. You need to be able to go to the FIRST unread post...you need this...
Am I missing something in the app? I don't think I can access the MLS team forums. I can access the main mls clubs forum... but not that subforums for the actual teams... ie. Chicago Fire. I just don't see them.
Same problem I'm having. Come on, guys. I know it's only 99 cents, but this is a pretty major oversight.
It's the same way in the German Clubs forum....can't access the specified club forums directly (ie, Bayern Munich, Dortmund, etc.)
All feedback heard. Sending over to our tech team and we'll discuss. I'll get back to you when I have an update. This version is better than the last and we continue to iterate, so we're glad to have your feedback.
Thanks...and keep them working on the links/access to the FIRST unread posts, not the last unread post.....
I'm for this too. This combined with a My BigSoccer page would be the main things I'd want when using on the iphone.
Ok - so I've asked our dev team both about what's up regard club legal access to forums and about getting to see the first unread post as opposed to the last unread post. Watch this space - getting answers...
We're investigating some of the earlier requests about showing first unread posts (as opposed to last unread posts). I'll let you know when that happens.
That would be much better... I've also noticed on the mobile version of BS that when you do click on the Last Unread post, it flashes it on the screen briefly, then directs you to the top of the page...so that feature is not working perfectly either. But, don't fix that....keep working on the First Unread post issue...
HELP!! OK....so one day I'm on my iPhone and the new mobile version of BS suddenly appears (not of my doing). (Which is the version we've been discussing here...) At the bottom of the page, there is a button to toggle to the 'standard' version of BS. So, last night, I pressed that button... Now I can't figure out how to get back to the new mobile version which loads the pages much quicker... Someone please clue me in as to how to get back to the new version.... If I click the little 'Mobile' icon at the bottom of the standard page, it's an OLD mobile version, not the new one... 2nd Question: How do I navigate to subforums in the new app? For instance, I frequent the FC Bayern subforum under the Forum German Clubs. In the standard format, those subforums appear. In the new app, those subforums do not appear... I think I remember seeing it this way in other areas of the boards as well. I don't think subforums are showing up.
