As I was watching the game yesterday, it came to me that he should be a midfielder, as calm as he is he would be perfect.

Stop that. Ream is absolutely perfect where he is.

A very calm and strong force in the back. I love how he distributes the ball and he seems tohave a great sense of when to step up and challenge and when to fall back. The only time I was concerned with him yesterday was when he tried to dribble out of the box in the second half and almost turned the ball over. Otherwise, i actually thought he was the best player out there. Very subtle but I think he ha dthe biggest impact on the game.

His poise with the ball and coolness under fire suggest an American Beckenbauer. We have plenty of other players who can take on the role of enforcer.

Glad to see you have seen the light Onionsack.

My point exactly. He's to good to be a defender.

The very reason you point out that he isn't a defender is the reason why he will be an excellent one. His positional sense, lack of fouling and ability to cover ground are all plusses for him, as a defender. The skill on the ball and passing mean we have a centerback who can help break pressure and start the attack. Why screw that up by trying to dissect and redefine Ream?

P.S. Sure it's crow; but 'Sack, you have to admit that Ream does some good cooking;)

Ream looks like a really good prospect so far. For those that know him better than me, how do you think his speed and athleticism will hold up at the highest level?

Minus the personality and attendant baggage, he reminds me of Rafa Marquez, especially in terms of technical skill and passing ability.

I call him Porn Star now. His name was the inspiration, of course, but since then, he's lived up to it. After all, the calm poise he shows when opponents are chasing him proves he has big balls. That, and he can keep it hard back there for 90 minutes.:D
