Come on, you have to admit USA is doing good this year with Donovan, Bocanegra, Altidore, Davies, Demerit, and Howard. They got 2nd in the confederation cup! I say it is either Brazil, USA, Italy, or Spain. That's my opinion.
african nation? so there are individual options... as well as an entire group? can i pick south american nation?
USA vs. Honduras 1-3 L USA vs. El Salvador 2-1 W USA vs. Netherlands 1-2 L yes, we have done extremely well this year lol is this the most prestigious cup in the world for you? haha, do you even know what a Confed Cup even looks like? haha, it is one thing to support and want your country to do well, it is another thing to be delusional
My top eight candidates: 1) Brazil: The talent is always there, but they look much more disciplined under Dunga, and I think they are the top candidate. 2) Spain: Overloaded with talent, they have everything they need to win, but they have to overcome the psychology of past failures. 3) Argentina: Loads of talent on offense and solid overall. Should contend, but coaching is a liability. 4) England: Offensive talent and improved coaching makes them a legitimate candidate, but aging defense and shaky goalkeeping makes them vulnerable. 5) Netherlands: If they played as they did during the first round of the Euros, watch out! 6) Germany: They look to be overmatched. Yeah, right, I've heard that one before. 7) Italy: The defending champions can't be counted out, but they look old and vulnerable. 8) African Nation? Possibly one of them could surprise in their home continent. My best bet is Ghana, who made the second round last time with a young squad and should be stronger now.
Ghana would be a good bet were it not for their injury issues. Strong mentally squad, but the midfield has really suffered of late. Unless Essien makes it in time for the World Cup Ghana may struggle to find the midfield dominance there are used to.
Its come down to 3 for me 1. Argentina -easiest path, loads of talent, will find a way 2. Brazil- class , style , opponents fear them 3. England - They play the most productive football at the moment, and its getting less boring to watch . If only they had a good league
Isn't Essien supposed to return to Chelsea squad first-week of May? Of course its not ideal, you'd want him to have 4-5 games to prepare for the WC but I thought it was pretty certain that he would be healthy in time.
Come on. Are the U.S.A fans that ignorant? You guys have no chance. Only good player you guys have is Clint Dempsey.
i think he was being optimistic relax big guy. furthermore, are you blind or ignorant? because in the 3rd post of this thread, i said i picked a south american team
if african nation was an option, south american nation should be an option too you know what i'm saying... thank you
Given that the World Cup isn't being played in Europe, I'm guessing you won't be putting too much money on that.
Seeing as how Argentina hasn't won the world cup outside of the Americas I'm betting they won't win it this time either.
