New thread for ticket resale's i.e. if you are successful in selling them back to FIFA and have received confirmation of that, then you can mention it here. Best of luck to everyone selling. Hopefully not a lot
Quick clarification :- I ran into a problem when trying to sell one ticket on the resale site. I bought the ticket in USD back in November but now the crappy system is thinking 160 USD is 160 ZAR and as a result calculating my returns based on ZAR ! Has anyone seen the same problem ?
I processed my re-sale request during the two hour window that it was functional on April 15. Just checked my screenshot of the confirmation and it shows properly in USD (2 Cat 1 tickets totaling $320, less $20 processing, equals $300 to be refunded if sold).
I think it is 10%, up to a maximum $20 fee. I expected that to be charged per ticket, but it looks like it is per order. It clearly states on my confirmation $320 less $20, and says "Total to Refund" of $300. Edit: The fine print on my confirmation states: An administration fee of 10% of the price printed on the Face of a Ticket (Face Price) rounded up to the nearest dollar for each Ticket identified in the Ticket Resale Request that is acutally resold (with a maximum of $20 (or 140 Rand as applicable) per Ticket Resale Request) will be deducted from the amount paid to the Ticket Applicant. In addition, if resale proceeds are provided to you via bank transfer, the costs of the bank transfer will be deducted from the resale proceeds. All Ticket Transfers are subject to the terms and conditions of the Ticket Transfer Policy.
Hi all, I have successfully entered for resale 3 x TST-5 (England Cat 2) through the site. It has taken me a few hours to do this since the site went live again, incurring a number a different errors during the process. A list of these were: (1)A processing error when attempting to return all 3 together. (2)I was then able to return the 2 TST's that were not in the name of the lead member, but encountering the first error for my own ticket. (3)After logging out, the site then did not recognise my user-name. (4)I was then unable to access the returns section (I imagine due to heavy traffic load). After 2 hours, all 3 are now up for resale. I will keep you updated on the progress of these sales. All the best to your respective teams in the tournament, and I wish it was possible for me to have been there. Stanley (England)
I'm glad the resale site came back up. Seems like its getting hammered though. Lots of ASP errors coming up. Hopefully one of us will have our tix sold soon. I put up 2 x cat 1 for game 60 when the resale site came up for a bit a week or so ago. I expected them to be up for seconds before someone snatched them up. oh well as long as they go I should be happy.
We have a person who offered up tickets for the opening match and the Semi in Durban. Those are games that will def. sell out (Fifa claims the opening match has already sold out). So as soon as his are resold we at least know the system works.
I am stating the obvious but can anyone confirm - if someone puts a TST up for sale, they get sold as individual tickets, and the seller receives a refund for whatever portions sell?
From what I can gather, it's an all or nothing scenario. How FIFA handle that behind the scenes seems to be a secret, but I do know that you will receive full ticket price (less fees) if your account shows as sold, or nothing if they don't.
I put some up for resale in the 2 hour window it was open last week. Checked the status just now and was not correct [it was obvious from the summary page] so I 'recovered' them and put them up for resale again. It's correct now. So in short, if you put them up last week then check and re-enter them if the 'My tickets' and 'Summary' tabs are wrong.
From memory... 1) There were 2 tickets being resold and it did not show both tickets for resale. It said just the main applicant ticket was up for resale. 2) There was nothing about the proceeds (i.e. the cost of tickets -$20) shown. It was only having read this thread I realised it was missing. It was obviously not right - you will know if it's happened to yours. I suspect it got confused because the site was half finished but under barrage from resellers.
Important FAQs :- When will I receive the proceeds from the resale? If your Tickets are resold, resale proceeds will be provided no later than 4 weeks following the final match of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™. If the Ticket Applicant paid for Tickets using a payment card (other than FNB/Visa Official Mascot Prepaid Cards), resale proceeds will be provided to the Ticket Applicant by way of a credit to the Ticket Applicant’s payment card. If the Ticket Applicant paid for Tickets via bank transfer, resale proceeds will be made by bank transfer to the same account. If the Ticket Applicant paid for Tickets using a FNB Visa Official Mascot prepaid Card or cash at a FNB branch, the Ticket Applicant must contact the FWCTC to arrange a method for receiving resale proceeds using other methods approved by the FWCTC. The Ticket Applicant is responsible for determining the status of his resale request, and may do so by checking on the summary within his “View your application” menu item, contacting the FWCTC call centre or asking about the status at a FIFA Ticketing Centre. The applicant is also responsible for making sure that he has provided the FWCTC with an effective method of providing payment of the resale proceeds, and should check with the FWCTC if the status of the request indicates that the Tickets have been resold, but no resale proceeds have been received within the time period identified, to make sure that there was not a problem with the payment method provided by the Ticket Applicant. The resale proceeds will be provided in dollars or rand depending on the currency used in the transaction as applicable Once resale proceeds are credited to the Ticket Applicant’s payment card account, the conversion ratesapplicable for conversion into other currencies are dependent on the banks or payment card companies involved. If resale proceeds have to be provided by bank transfer, the amount will be reduced by the cost of the bank transfer fees. Currency fluctuations may further reduce the amount of the resale proceeds. The name of the individual Ticket Applicant must be the same as the name of the individual on the payment card being provided with the credit, or the bank account to which the resale proceeds are being transferred. What about TST Tickets? Ticket Applicants who have purchased TSTs will only be permitted to submit the entire TST series of tickets for resale (and not any parts thereof).
I put some tickets up for resale when it was first launched and now i'm trying to put a few more up but on the last screen with the save it spits out an error. "Error saving..." is this happening for anyone else who put some up earlier and tried to do it again now? I guess i will have to wait a few days for them to work out the kinks in the system. Dropped back 3 x Cat 1 QF 58, 4 x Serbia v Ghana cat 2, 2 x SKorea v Argentina and 2 x usa slovenia cat 2.
I put up for resale 4 x Cat 2 for England v Algeria in Cape Town, 4 x Cat 1 for the June 28th R16 game in Durban, and 4 x Cat 1 for the July 2nd QF game in Joburg. I also have four extras for the US v Algeria game but haven't tried to unload those yet.
nice1 supa. i think its safe to assume that FIFA will keep our $ and collect as much interest on it as possible before giving it back to us.
This is freaking me out. Am I the only one experiencing the problem described above ?? Am I doing something wrong in the ticket resale site ? FFS Responses would be greatly appreciated.
