Are you seriously going to argue that a Revs fan would rather miss out on watching a game live because the team has better coverage on a website and Chris Camille's hot bod is shown regularly during local advertising breaks? But you had to respond. After all, I did personally attack you by saying there were negative issues for some people with this new deal.
What I find interesting is that the Celtics game is on ESPN. So I'm surprised they would still show the match on CSN with it being aired on ESPN. I normally don't want the Celtics but is that common, where they would still show both matches on ESPN and CSN?
I'm an avid Celtics fan. Usually ESPN would buy exclusive rights to show the game and CSNE would not be able to show it. CSNE must of shelled $$$$$$$$$$ in order to be able to broadcast it with their legendary hometown announce crew. As for the delays and the wah wah wah wah. It's going to be what... 1/10th of the season? In contrast the camera work on TV 38 was HORRIBLE. The cameras would consistently shake and the game was barely watchable. CSNE when showing the games have been pure class. On top of that not only are they merely delaying the game till 11:30 tonight. Tomorrow they will be replaying the game at 2pm or something in the early evening like that. Which is a fantastic time to watch any sporting event.
First round games are not exclusive ESPN/TNT only conference semi final's and one of the conference final series each and NBA finals.
Okay, I'm SOL with my "Accrington Stanley" cable provider. Metrocast Cable Who are they? 'xackly! <Drink!> Directions to the North Mass / South NH gathering place?
The real test will be in the fall if late season Revs games bump Celtics coverage. This is what NESN has always done with B's/ Red Sox conflicts, the team in the more important game gets the main channel. I'm sure were you a Celtics fan you'd be outraged about a playoff game being missed, regardless what other channel had it. And TV38? I would rather have what happened last week, with the game on a one day delay, happen that watch on TV38 live. I was so glad I didn't have to watch a soccer game that looked like it was recorded on a cell phone this year. HD soccer is so much better. Let alone 16:9 compared to 4:3. I bet a large percentage of TV38 lovers are watching on an SD set. And vice versa for CSNNE lovers.
Oh yeah, much better. Two games, two instances with "find the game on a channel that is only active for 3 hours and changes from week to week AND changed by area code and provider". So much better. It's like the cherry on top of "revs games used to be free but now you have to subscribe to cable, but not FIOS, because FIOS doesnt have it" So how are those wonderful sports roundups going? "Dont forget to watch the revs tonight on a channel TBA! The list of channels is so complex, you'll have to go online to find out which one is available on your street. Stick around here FOR THE CELTICS!!!!!!"
A new twist: On channel 81, there is programming currently going on. On the channel guide, where recording is done, it continues to say "off-air". I called Comcast to ask why (because I need to DVR this game), and I was told that the channel will not be in use until later this month. Comcast is inept. They don't know what they're doing.
OK, I have VerizonFiOS, but not Direct Kick or whatever they are calling the online subscription this year. Do I have any way to watch the match live? Will I be able to see the game on Direct Kick without having a subscription? Howard
Asked my ticket rep about FIOS. As reported, nothing on it. Suggested I should go to a bar or perhaps hit neighbors with snacks. Right, at 11:30 at night. At least one could get 38 over the airwaves, and now limited to comcast. Another example of the FO saying to heck with some of their fans. After having Comcast for 8 years, FIOS is without a question the way to go. Good-by revs.
Oh!! How I love this F%$^$&* Front Office!! I'd take more years of Channel 38 without HD than this "Conflict with this telecast..and/or Conflict with Comets and Meteorites"... What a joke these people are...! I'd actually be happier if they blacked out local games..but please, when the team plays 3000 miles away..SHOW THE GAME!! ..i'm sure we'll get a ton of K.A. lovers chime in about "How can it be Denny Crane's fault if Comcass has a better deal with the celtics..etc..etc." What a bunch of BS...
Ok its 10pm, I'm watching Channel 81. There is still a baseball game on. Are they really going to wait till this stupid game is over before switching to the Rev's game??
By the way, I have RCN and on ch. 8 it is currently a Cincinatti Reds vs. Pittsburgh Pirates game. What the #$%@#$*%@ Comcast?!??!?
Ok I was willing to wait for the end of the Pirates/Reds game but now they are showing the POST GAME COVERAGE? WTF where the hell is the Revs like the team promised. Why post the game is going to be on WHEN IT ISN'T.
After 5minutes, the broadcast stopped here in central MA (Charter) - just snow on the screen. Will try tivoing at 11:30 and hope that works better
Thanks for the link, I'm getting something about rainbow on 81, apparently they really are off air. alternate channel my....
Well for the second time in four games this season, I am unable to watch a Revs game.......... CSN is batting .500 in my area On the bright side. I did get about 5-7 minutes of why the Cinncinatti Reds suck this year. Great analysis....
what a friggin rinky-dink operation the revs are....WOW!!!!!!!....no friggin game!!!!...after being bombarded with emails and ads saying it was on another channel
Rainbow Network Communications is one of the satellite farms/distribution centers that InDemand uses from time to time. As a guess, Comcast is mapping the Direct Kick feed to an alternate channel location. However, Rainbow was planning on using the same frequency for the Reds/Pirates game as the Revs game. My guess is they haven't switched the feed yet. Oh, and by the way... the more people who call Comcast and complain, the faster it'll get fixed.
