Why do I doubt this? ;)

EDIT: In all honesty, whenever I watched David Silva play I always thought to myself: "Dude's got an unusual look ... reeks of .... Oriental.."

His mother is not full Korean, she just has Korean blood as her dad or grandad is Korean, i think. That makes Silva part of us! LOL

Hmm interesting. A Spanish article on him says his mother side's grandpa was a Korean sailor. He had a daughter who married a Spanish man, and between them David Silva was born.

What's interesting about the background is that, the Korean and Spanish government made some sort of an fishery agreement which allowed Korean fleets access to fishing grounds near Las Palmas. About 3000 Koreans went there in 1966 to fish for the Korean government. lol the article reads, "of this fishery agreement David Silva was born".

Haha, like they would care. I get called "Chino" all the time when I play with my friends, they don't bother going into specifics :)

if i understand spanish surnames correctly, his other name jimenez comes from his mother and silva comes from his father. if his mother's father was korean and she got jimenez from the korean grandfather, what's the deal?

I don't think the numbers add up. Villa's 'Korean' Grandfather is part of the 1966 fishing fleet, has a child right away with a Spanish woman circa 1966.

That makes Villa's mother 44 years old. Villa is 28 years old. She would have been 16 when she had DV. I guess it's possible although unlikely.

I think you've got Silva mistaken with Villa.. Silva was born in 1986.
