FYI, but I received the first batch of scarves today and will start sending them out later this week. They look great... Evan
Only 15 of the Join or Die scarves are left for purchase: Cost remains $25 each (includes shipping), best way to pay being via PayPal to evan_whitney@harvard.edu Cheers, The Magpie
Morning everyone, As of Saturday morning I have six Join or Die scarves left that are available for purchase. Evan
Wondering about this as well. I'm looking for a match scarf for each of the three group stage matches for my collection. Might be picking up one of those last JoD scarves if there are any still left when my paycheck lands, but if not I'll keep my eyes peeled for future scarves you put out.
Just FYI, but I was able to ship most everyone's scarves this evening, so with a bit of luck, people should start receiving them in a few days. The only ones I didn't ship were those heading overseas and one large order I need to get a big box for. Evan
What he said. I wanted a Cheers scarf too as it had a unique African style to it which would have made it memorable for this special World Cup, but clearly I was too late. Too bad you won't be doing these. This is the one that I REALLY wanted. I'd buy it as is, but I also wouldn't mind if it said, "We Are United," since we are THE United States of America.
Let me know if there are any Join scarves left. Heck, if there is no chance of getting a Spirit one, I'll take what I can get. Of course, it'd be nice to have the Spirit one for the England game and the Join for the other two group games. I strongly urge you to get those Spirit scarves going though. Both the Cheers and Spirit scarves are obviously unique to this tournament and will be really cool to look back at years from now.
Got mine today (but then again I'm only a town away from Evan). Reeaaally good quality on this thing. Sweet deal, thanks again! If there are any left, all of you out there should buy one.
If you want one, send me $25 via PayPal to evan_whitney@harvard.edu immediately; there are just a few left.
Afternoon everyone, As of now (Wedmesday, April 7th) the ‘Join or Die’ scarves are officially sold out. When including this design, along with the other two below, I’ve managed to move approx. 500 scarves over the last 12 months, and I want to extend a sincere ‘Thank You’ to everyone ‘Cheers’ ‘Join or Die’ ‘Estados Unidos’ I received orders from 36 different states, the District of Columbia, and three foreign countries, including: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Washington, DC, Wisconsin, as well as Brazil, Germany, and Qatar. In case people are curious: Store4fans.com produced the scarves, and I want to give them due credit for their excellent work and customer service. I know some people are disappointed I won’t be getting the ‘Spirit of 1950’ or other designs done, but to be honest, the demand for this and other potential designs has not been as great as I’ve hoped for, at least not enough to warrant getting a run done. So again, thanks to everyone who placed and order. - The Magpie
I Just Got My Scarf, And It's Awesome! IT IS TRULY AMAZING AND BEAUTIFUL! This Scarf Should Be Mass Produced! I Am Very Lucky To Own One. Can't Wait To Be Able To Purchase Your Next Design!
Too bad. This. Also, what constitutes "demand"? Do you need more posters here asking for it or are there others outside of BS that need to ask for them? Honestly, if you just started a new thread for the "Spirit" design, I bet you'd be surprised to see how many people would pick one up.
That's a tough question to answer, because any definition of 'demand' is going to be somewhat subjective. With respect to the 'Spirit of 1950' design, I measured interest/demand by soliciting interest in this forum, looking for feedback within the thread itself, also having contacted a number of people having purchased other designs of mine. By-in-large, while a number of people liked the design, I didn't get the sense there was enough serious interest to warrant a production run. Understanding this, I put my time, money, and energy into getting another run of the 'Join or Die' design done, that having just sold out. There's also another factor in all of this that bears understanding, time. As I've said before, I'm a one-man, D.I.Y. production and sales team, and over the course of the past ten months or so I've been working to put out these scarves while working a full-time job, trying to get work done on my Master's thesis, and most important, learning to be a dad to my almost 7 month-old daughter. Could I do a run of the 'Spirit of1950' scarves? Sure, but if I order a decent-sized run then I run the risk of taking a bath of the order if I can't move the scarves, and at this point, I'm not really willing to pound the pavement and beat the drum to rally people to buy them if interest is tepid. At this point, I want to get outside and play with my daughter, catch some Revolution games, and look forward to the World Cup. I know some people are frustrated, and believe me, I wouldn't mind seeing a match-specific scarf done for the England match, but I'm going to bow out on this one. That being said... The only way I can see the 'Spirit of 1950' design getting done is the following way: * Someone else puts up their own money... * Someone else handles the shipping and handling... * Scarves get made by Store4fans.com * Any & all profits made on the sale of the scarves (not including money from sales going to the production cost) be donated to: http://www.littlefeet.com/ If someone's willing to take this one, feel free to drop me PM and we'll go from there. Cheers, Evan
