With the way Fulham has fouled Jozy today they aren't going to get the benefit of the doubt on close calls.
fulham have been completely absent today. I don't know whether the fact that I don't have audio effects this, but I haven't seen Dempsey at all today.
I'm a big Altidore fan and I think the sky is the limit for him but I do wish he would cut down on some of the diving. He definitely gets fouled plenty as it is, no need to dive so much in addition.
I don't see the obvious diving, let alone, so much. The defenders can always stop fouling him if they want to.
I stand by the claim that Jozy has been the best player on the field, but it's evident, to me at least, that he's lost a lot of his kill goal scoring instincts. For example, on a free kick earlier from Bullard that was put on frame, he was caught behind his mark on the rebound. Then, on the looping header to the back post by Fagan, for some reason he was nonchalantly jogging for a ball which could have potentially been a tap in for all he knew at the time. I'd love to see him in a high scoring league next season to gain some of his confidence in that area back.
I think it's pretty clear though that this is the kind of play Hull want from Jozy because all of Hull's strikers (at least under Brown and it doesn't look like it's changed much) get the ball in with their backs to the goal and then go down. They get those long balls, then fall down. At least it seems like that's the way they've decided to make up for their lack of flow in the midfield. Just my observations this season.
Some nice passing by Jozy this half. Too bad Bullard is the Prem's version of Ben Gordon. That is, he's never met a shot he didn't take.
Bullard shoots wide on a counter created by Jozy 70 yards back, and he even gets forward to join the play.
If Jozy can manage to put a bulge in the old onion he'll procure a 9 rating from some of the English Media outlets.
This game seems pretty typical for him of the ones I've seen. Influential, good plays, a huge handful for defenders, but not even one half chance to score. Only one shot, that he had to force, with almost zero chance of scoring. In other words, zero service.
funny, but as I watch my Hull/Fulham feed I'm hearing the West Ham audio. Sounds like Spector isn't having the best of days. On another note... yeah Jozy! Show some fire! I like it.
