I don't think Talley is a long-term starter in the midfield or on the backline, but this seems to be a sensible move given where we are now, assuming we get his salary down to $70k or less.

As soon as Ray Hudson showed up in '02, he traded Stephen Armstrong to KC for Brandon Prdeaux, but I can't remember what we got for Talley. Anyone know?

Good move, if he can still play. Welcome home, bro.

    Hmmmmmmmmm.......I don't remember.

I think we traded him to KC as well.......for future considerations. Don't remember what they were though.

That's right. I don't recall what those future transactions turned into.

I think it's good to have a bruiser-type defender with experience. I liked him before he was traded away, then I despised him with a hatred that burned like molten lava, now I have to learn to like him again. So is the life of a fan of United, where the old is often new again.

    Very nice. Welcome home, Carey!

Solid pro, fits our needs, good guy, not too expensive, so... excellent addition.

Nice. I've been a Talley fan for a pretty long time.

This is great news for the sentimentalist in us all. I have fond memories of a goal he scored against KC in '99. I think he was a rookie.

He was a rookie in '98.

In fact, he started and went 90 in the CONCACAF Champions Cup final against Toluca in '98.

Welcome back hope you saved some winning for us

He also scored a rocket off a Marco corner-kick in a CONCACAF CC game in early 2001 against Alajuelense. We won the game 2-1. His goal may have been a stoppage-time winner.

I think Kasper realized that I wanted Talley because I was wearing my Talley shirt on Saturday. :)

I'm pleased to have him, but I would be more pleased if I was assured we aren't matching his present salary ($125k, IIRC).

Joe . . . you know that means you could be brought up on charges to FIFA for tampering. With Sepp Blatter in charge . . . . I'm just saying!

Now we know DC has someone who will have no problem kicking Beckham if/when he returns.

In all seriousness, a great pro, great guy in the locker room, and a good addition to the team. Nice to see him back.

If it you can't have a skilled defender, a bruiser is the second best option! Welcome back!

Is that one of those famous Baltimore back-handed compliments? ;)

Woot! Welcome back Talley! I didn't realise that our backline regulars were out for that long - Namoff, McTavish and Burch. Eek!

Joe, I thought of you and your Talley jersey when I first heard that he had been signed. Got any other jerseys of folks that could help us?

Excellent idea. Joe, can you start wearing a DCU jersey with "Pirlo" on the back?

let's see off the top of my head -

    Convey
Dyachenko - I put the 15's next to each other
    McGinty
    Thorpe
    Talley
    Olsen
    Moreno
    Stafford
    EZ
    Boswell - I gave away
Can't find my Quaranta - but it was the pink one
    Gros
    Vermillion
    Stokes (2 of them)
    Wilson
    Bertz

    I think that's it.

I'm fairly confident you won't be able to fit into the Convey jersey, so we should be safe from that fate.

I am confident because I have one as well ;)
