Re: 2010 Roster, a work in progress... Not an official signing but it looks like Levi Coleman will be joining the Battery on an extended trial through the preseason according to another poster here on bigsoccer. Levi Coleman's Bio Looks like a tall striker and he was here during the USL combine in Jan.
Re: 2010 Roster, a work in progress... Are there gonna be enough guys to field a team for the CCC? I hope they don't have to come out to the parking lot and break up a grilled sausage event in order to recruit players.....just sayin'..... But make sure you pack your shinguards when you go....just in case.... Of course, I'll bring the duct tape....
Re: 2010 Roster, a work in progress... Battery Add Three colin Falvey and Mark Briggs both with the Hammerheads in 2009 and Josh Bolton ex-silverback, rhino and Harrison City
Re: 2010 Roster, a work in progress... I'd bring em anyway...with Mikey's kids flying around kicking ball and throwing shiite at the tailgate .....

Re: 2010 Roster, a work in progress... Nunes has a green card too, so he doesn't count against the 6 and 5 rule. Here is his bio: http://www.charlotteeagles.com/eaglesproteam/eaglesroster/317752.html

Everyone else is on a trial Mods, Can you sticky this thread for the season?
LOL i was trying to find your thread and didnt see it and honestly I couldnt remember what it was titled. Once I posted this one, I came back online and saw yours but by that time I couldnt delete this one. Im going to see if a mod can merge them and sticky them as well.
Number Name Pos 2 Chris Cutshaw F 3 Colin Falvey D (currently playing in NZ) 4 O'brian Woodbine D 5 Nigel Marples D 6 Josh Bolton D 8 Mark Briggs M (Currently playing in Malta) 9 Tom Heinemann F 10 Amaruy Nunes F 11 Ian Fuller F/AC 12 Yeniel Bermudez D 13 Kevin Jackson M 14 Pierre-Rudolph Mayard M (Season loan from Montreal) 15 Alioune Gueye M 16 Stephen Armstrong M 17 Jon Gruenewald M 18 Patrick Tate D 19 Levi Coleman F 20 Mike Zaher M 21 Brandon Massie F 23 Chris Murrray M 24 Zack Prince M 25 John Wilson D 26 Sani Abdullahi F 27 Lance Laing D 30 Keith Wiggins GK bold is signed updated: battery add Zaher and Gruenewald Gilstrap moved on and no longer with the Battery
This is how the team has been the last two preseason matches. GK 30 Keith Wiggans 01 Reece Crowther ? Ryan Kessler Defenders 25 John Wilson 20 Mike Zaher 7 O'Brien Woodbine 5 Nigel Marples 3 Colin Falvey 12 Yeniel Bermudez Mids 6 Josh Bolton 8 Mark Briggs 11 Ian Fuller 13 Kevin Jackson 14 Pierre-Rudolph Mayard 15 Alioune Gueye 16 Stephen Armstrong 17 Jon Gruenewald 24 Zach Prince Forwards 9 Tom Heinemann 10 Amaury Nunes 19 Levi Coleman 21 Brandon Massie 04 Lamar Neagle Bold is signed, (included Mayard who is on loan) If I count right that is 23 total, including the three GK and Fuller, which we are still unsure if he is going to be a Player/Coach or a Coach/Player. Patrick Tate is no longer with the team I was told at Saturday's preseason match. That is a pretty good roster and I would love to keep that many for depth and bringing up a player slowly for the future. But I wouldnt be surprised to see a couple leave before the roster deadline date (not sure when that is).
http://charlestonbattery.com/news.asp?y=2010&page=1&id=515 The Charleston Battery has added striker Levi Coleman to its roster as it continues to build towards the start of the USL season. Coleman was spotted by Charleston head coach Mike Anhaeuser at the USL PDL Showcase held at Blackbaud Stadium in February. Coleman was invited into camp and earned a roster spot following strong performances in pre-season including during the Carolina Challenge Cup. A native of Tulsa, OK, Coleman, 6-2, 187 lbs., 24 yrs., played his final two years of college soccer at the University of Missouri-Kansas City after transferring from Florida International. Brandon Massie joins the Charleston Battery for his rookie pro-season. A four year starter at Virginia Wesleyan, Massie comes to the Battery via Charleston’s invitation player trial held in February. A native of Chesapeake, Virginia, Massie 5-9, 164 lbs., 22yrs., majored in Criminal Justice.
UPDATED to add Coleman and Maisse. GK 30 Keith Wiggans 01 Reece Crowther ? Ryan Kessler Defenders 25 John Wilson 20 Mike Zaher 7 O'Brien Woodbine 5 Nigel Marples 3 Colin Falvey 12 Yeniel Bermudez Mids 6 Josh Bolton 8 Mark Briggs 11 Ian Fuller 13 Kevin Jackson 14 Pierre-Rudolph Mayard 15 Alioune Gueye 16 Stephen Armstrong 17 Jon Gruenewald 24 Zach Prince Forwards 9 Tom Heinemann 10 Amaury Nunes 19 Levi Coleman 21 Brandon Massie 04 Lamar Neagle Bold is signed, (included Mayard who is on loan)
So, Wilson is not signed? You had him as "signed" in mid-March - don't tell me you might have been incorrect Well, unless he's trying for a USL1/NASL/Div 2 contract, I hope he stays in Charleston.
I understand he is 99% certain to stay in Charleston. He doesnt want to move any more and wants to finish here in Charleston. I dont know if there is a contract issue or the club is just holding on to make the press announcements over time. I could see Johnny's announcment being right before the season opener to get the most play from the local press.
Adding Wilson GK 30 Keith Wiggans Ryan Cooper Defenders 25 John Wilson 20 Mike Zaher 7 O'Brien Woodbine 5 Nigel Marples 3 Colin Falvey 12 Yeniel Bermudez Mids 6 Josh Bolton 8 Mark Briggs 11 Ian Fuller 13 Kevin Jackson 14 Pierre-Rudolph Mayard 15 Alioune Gueye 16 Stephen Armstrong 17 Jon Gruenewald 24 Zach Prince Forwards 9 Tom Heinemann 10 Amaury Nunes 19 Levi Coleman 21 Brandon Massie 04 Lamar Neagle (im leaving him in case he doesnt catch on in Austin)
Mikey, now you have to update it again, since Kevin Jackson and Zach Prince have signed... http://charlestonbattery.com/news.asp?y=2010&page=1&id=520
I think we might be close to a final roster UPDATING Jackson and Prince. GK 30 Keith Wiggans Ryan Cooper Defenders 25 John Wilson 20 Mike Zaher 7 O'Brien Woodbine 5 Nigel Marples 3 Colin Falvey 12 Yeniel Bermudez Mids 6 Josh Bolton 8 Mark Briggs 11 Ian Fuller 13 Kevin Jackson 14 Pierre-Rudolph Mayard 15 Alioune Gueye 16 Stephen Armstrong 17 Jon Gruenewald 24 Zach Prince Forwards 9 Tom Heinemann 10 Amaury Nunes 19 Levi Coleman 21 Brandon Massie 04 Lamar Neagle (currently trying his luck in Austin)
Lamar Neagle played the second half yesterday. I assume that there has to be a formal agreement of somesort to play on game day. Ill wait until there is a formal announcement from the club though
