My husband and I will be in Vgas on March 25, and assuming all goes well, we plan to watch the opening game between Seattle and Philly. So, question is, are there any casinos that are more likely to have the game on at least one tv in their sportsbook?
probably all of them will have it on at least one tv. if you can bet on it, which you can...they'll put it on, which they will. good luck. MGM has a fantastic sportsbook from what i remember from a few years ago but there are a bunch of new casinos now that probably are better
New York, New York has a movie theatre w/stadium seating and 20 or so TV's. They should have the game on.
I wouldnt be so sure. I remember reading that they only started including MLS in the sportsbooks a couple of years ago. You might as well ask at each casino as you explore the strip.
i'm sure a polite request and a smile can get them to turn it on for you on one of their 75 TV's if it isn't already on
I stayed at the Tropicana last year with my gal and they were showing MLS games (from ESPN/2) in the bar as I was passing through. (Which got me to sit down and order a beer for the rest of the game!) I don't know if the sportsbook was showin' it though...
If you want to go off the beaten path there's a slightly gritty English pub at Tropicana and Maryland Parkway called The Crown & Anchor. They show all the EPL matches and what not, I'm sure if you ask nicely they'll happily turn at least one TV to the match. West of the strip, there is a decent Irish pub called McMullan's that is also soccer friendly. Everywhere else? No idea. Those two places are where I usually went to watch WCQ/WC games with a crowd.
Nine Fine Irishmen is a pub at New York New York with bunches of TVs. They will get the game on for you. Way off the strip on West Charleston near Rampart is Three Angry Wives pub. Cool place, good food and they will put the game on for you no problem. If you go there, you can go to Red Rocks Casino nearby or actually go to an outdoor activity in Vegas (gasp!)... Red Rocks National Park is West of there. Just stay on Charleston heading west and you run into it. Red Rocks Casino Resort is a newer, off strip casino that is really cool.
If one really wanted to know what would happen if the average American strip-mall-loving suburb legalized casino gambling, then by all means try the Red Rock. There's off-strip, and then there's OFF-strip. The place itself is clean and nice, to be sure, but it lacks even a modicum of the tacky bizarro-world half-Disney wtf-ness that makes Vegas an interesting tourist destination. Red Rock is more for soccer-moms with gambling problems. As for where to watch soccer, count mine as another vote for the Crown and Anchor. Knowledgeable crowd and good fries ("chips") with curry sauce.
Crown and Anchor is the place: http://www.crownandanchorlv.com/index2.html If MLS ever puts a team in Vegas, this will be the main place for away game viewing parties!
