So, I am watching the repeat broadcast of the England-Egypt game and this oversized sports news crawl shows up at the bottom the screen and reveals the score of the game being shown.

    This should not happen.

They're obviously taking their cues from ESPN2 which does this all the time. Hell, ESPN does it, too.

FS+ is a joke of an abortion wrapped in a turd.

For $15/month you: no longer get Ligue 1, you get some Serie A that was in HD on FSC, you get repeat after repeat of pathetic highlight shows, probably endless repeats of the likes of Bolton & Stoke (not that the upper half of the table is all that entertaining, either,) none of the internationals that Setanta carried —and you get the goddamn crawl.

Subscribers will be leaving in droves, I hope.

Yeah. They're the same company. Of course they would.

I'm not making excuses, but didn't Setanta usually pick the bottom-feeders first during the later part of past seasons? With the top 2-3 spots all but wrapped up in the final 4-5 weeks, the relegation battles can provide some good competition, despite the fact those teams are the worst in the league.

yeah, I seen something rather ironic last night on FSP: The Fox Soccer Report top goals of the week: #1 was from the Russian League, and you could see the Setanta logo behind the FSP logo! It was almost like fox was rubbing it into our faces! It felt like they were saying "Haha suckers, we basically took over this channel and you wont see this league ever again!"

Yeah but remember that FSP is produced in Canada and gets alot of the video footage from what Canada has access to. I believe Setanta in still available north of the border, and the USA and Caribbean went off the air. If you notice on FSR, that the early game highlights from ESPN 2 (Man City/Chelsea for example) will instead have the Setanta logo in the corner when it wasn't on Setanta here in the States. But I feel your pain with the RPL thing and all

    Re: Fux Soccer Plus Morons

Yep, I paid $15.00 to subscribe and watch the Fox Soccer Plus rebroadcast of that match, only to watch the result given to me a few minutes in on the news ticker at the bottom of the screen. Same happened the day before on FSC with the Brazil Ireland match.
Will cancel today, as it's the only way to send a message to corporate idiots and will ask my cable provider for my money back. I emailed Fox, but all you get in response is botmail.
They should rename themselves Fux Soccer Channel.

You could avoid this of course by recording the original broadcast.

Yes, but there's still no excuse for revealing the score of a match you're watching. That's amateur hour.

At the worst, they'll pro-rate your subscription, so you only have to pay for the week or so you paid for the subscription. If you're polite about it, they could give you a little bit of credit off your bill.

Be polite about it and it'll go a long way. "I wish to cancel my subscription to Fox Soccer Plus. It's not worth my money." "I was also wondering if there is anything else you could do for me in the way of credit, or a premium channel free for a month or so."

If you know what to say, you'll come out ahead.

    off the purple line
The most irritating thing is that the actual schedule is crap. Fox was showing 4 games on FSC and sometimes a 5th on FSE. Now they've just moved one of the Saturday games to FSP. They have more or less kept Setanta's EPL stuff, but personally I could care less about seeing Sunderland v. Wolves. They are even showing less Championship games (it looks like 1 per week compared to 2 that Setanta showed). None of this is to say that Fox is responsible for Setanta going under; rather, it's just to say that this channel is junk so far and probably won't get any better unless they are going to actually fill it with programming that merits a second channel.

The difference between Setanta and FSP is most explicit in the holes in the schedule this past week. Setanta would have had 4-5 friendlies over 2 days (some live, some same-day delay, and some one-day delay). Fox: 2 games (Brazil-ROI, England-Egypt). This sucks.

FSP could even fill programming with CONCACAF CL games, which isn't really of interest to me personally but at least it would appear as if they have some desire to not repeat what's on FSC or that they have just pulled a bait and switch on us.

it's reading threads like this that make me glad I cancelled my DISH acct and
watched the FSC+ feed of England V Egypt last week on a free public stream at 1400k.

They did this with the EPL matches over the weekend as well. Disappointing to say the least!

It sucks that they put no thoughts into this. Also the crawl is useless, it adds nothing other than shrinking the picture.

The problem with stream is that I cannot reliably record it since it is hard for me to watch games live due to my scheule.

they were unreliable 2 years ago, not anymore.
Whether you use a dedicated streaming client like Sopcast, or HQ site like Veetle or Vexcast, you can usually find very solid and reliable streams.

Setanta sublicensed 1/2 of the English Football League "Championship" and English League Cup matches to ESPN360.com.

That sublicense remains in effect even after FS+ took over Setanta's U.S. video contact for the EFL "Championship" and English League Cup with the English Football League Ltd. and CSI Sports Ltd.

Middlesbrough vs Newcastle on March 13 at 9:55am ET will be on ESPN360.com

I've just dropped FS+ although I was paying $9.99 for it only.
This channel is not even worth being a La Carte channel in my opinion!

Totally agree the FS+ schedule so far has been rubbish.

At $15 a la carte it's not worth it. And I'm pissed at Verizon for switching me over from Setanta automatically.
