A ver si se acaban las estupideces de tener una "final" entre el sétimo y el noveno de la tabla acumulada

Just to understand well, would that mean 22 league games each half-season? And with playoffs? If that's the case, then it's pretty much a single-table proposition and it makes sense to me, especially without any national cup tournament on the side. The only problem I would see with it is that in this case, every team has 44 fixtures to deal with each year, not including playoffs and/or Concacaf participation.

Right now we have the same format as the worst league in the World (Malta)....so if we really want to change our league in a positive way I would imitate leagues like the EPL, Serie A, and La Liga.

I would like to see a Premier league composed of 9 teams (we don't have enough talent for too many teams)....

    1. Alajuelense
    2. Saprissa
    3. Herediano
    4. Cartagines
    5. Brujas F.C.
    6. Liberia
    7. Puntarenas
    8. Limon
    9. San Carlos

    - Home and away matches twice (32 games total)
    - The team that makes the most points overall is Champion (no playoff bs)
    - 2nd and 3rd place get automatic spots to CONCACAF CL.
    - Last place finish automatically drops for whoever wins the Ascenso and 8th plays a playoff against the runner-up in Ascenso to decide who deserves a spot in the Premier League.

No, the proposal as it stands is single table, no playoffs, everybody plays 22 games, whoever ends up with most points is the champion.

It would actually be the same lenght as today, where the group round is 16 games, and whoever makes it to the final has to play six more games for a total of 22. So it's the same number of games overall, just with a much more intelligent, fair and sensible format.

Which means it has close to zero chance of being approved and implemented as is

...um, what the hell sort of solution is this?:mad:

So now the Costa Rican league is going to be as competitive as MLS was five years ago. Unless they're planning on expanding the first division, under this system it will be harder to not qualify for the playoffs than to make it.

    LOL, I knew it!!

These idiots wouldn't know a competitive format if it kicked them in the ass.

Apparently only Alajuelense, Saprissa and Santos voted 'yes' on the single table.

All the other idiots decided that an even more mediocre format than the current one was the solution.

    Fantastic...

I guess the others voted in their self-interest, e.g. giving everyone a shot at the trophy.

So then, coming to a tv screen near you: la UCR in the 2011-12 Concachampions! Prepare yourselves for the horror! :D

    ... :(

Good news, everyone, at least as far as league structure is concerned: now Eduardo Li (taking a break from blaming all the national team's problems on Kenton and Centeno) is throwing his hat in the ring, recommending a home-and-away 22-game tournament with a home-and-away quadrangular at the end with the top two of each group (no single-table) to determine a champion.

Won't happen....all the small shit clubs want a shot at winning the league...so they'll say no to this format (especially Cartagines and Herediano). It's too bad since Alajuelense and Saprissa are starting to regain their form but can easily be eliminated in the stupid playoffs by a shitty team on a hot streak:rolleyes:.

And I already know what their excuse is going to be: "That's waaay to many games per year, our delicate players can't possibly play that many games, they will get very tired and will probably drop between 15 and 20 pounds each, and to top it off they will get sunburnt when they play in Puntarenas at noon, we can't have that, no way!"

We have waaay to many shitty teams running a shitty league. And people wonder why our shitty futbol gets shitty results.

It was a decent game...there were a lot of scoring chances for both teams...but it would've been much better and much more even if Alajuelense played Saprissa in the final...but that's what we get for having Silbaja as our coach (who thinks Erick Scott and Ariel "********in" Rodriguez are better than Marco Urena and Diego Estrada) Saprissa will finish this easily at home.

Still Saprissa conceded some silly goals and gave the ball away quite a bit. Maybe they just didn´t take them seriously, but San Carlos countered pretty good. The scoreline should be more realistic Saturday.

Didn´t make it into the stadium but good win by Saprissa last night. San Carlos played well but were clearly out of their league. They only created two serious goal attempts while Saprissa created numerous (in addition to missing a penalty.) Still they have some fast players with above-average technical ability that could play on smaller teams in some Scandinavian/Northern European countries. The ref could have given a couple of red cards but at least kept the game under control.

The best team lifted the Cup.
