Dammitt!! Donovan with a beautiful ball over the last defender to find Saha, who cuts it back to Pienaar. But he tries for the curler into the top right corner and goes high.

Guardian says that's Everton's first shot of the game. Is that sarcasm, or has Everton really been that off the mark today?

And that's it. Sporting are now advancing if the score remains as Sporting finally beat Howard with a break down the left, a through ball that looks close to offside, but Everton players can't be playing the trap with that fine of an edge in their own box.

Howard no hope as the play is finished with conviction.

1-0 Sporting. To be fair, if not for Howard's stellar play so far it might be 2-0 or 3-0 already.

Let's see if Donovan can get it back. Donovan having another solid performance. Not a world-beater, but certainly a solid match so far.

Aaaaaand this is why I said the goal they gave up last week was a "disaster." A statement I was criticized for, mind you.

Well, LD has a chance to become hero now.
