More than foot-speed, mental quickness is what will help Freddy keep his place. Good timing and quick thinking make for a pretty good midfielder.

    Lyrics are:

Aris my sweet and big team
Everyone is scared of you because
My Aris they have to know you are
first team and strongest of all

    refrain:
Aris Aris you are the proudest of all
Aris Aris the most famous of all
    and whoever your opponent is
has to think about you better

Aris my sweet and big team
You got fans that they love you
They are Aris fans and proudest of all
and they keep their heads high

    refrain

Sounds silly in english but what the heck :p

Sounds good but I think the bolded part doesn't make sense. The opponent has to think about you better? Do you mean the opponent has to respect you or that the opposing team knows they are inferior?

it's more like they have to think twice before they challenge us.

Highlights what EJ doesn't have - controlled touch, spatial orientation and ability to take on defenders 1 v 1. The physical tools are there, his footballing instincts still are lacking.

Whatever that means??? Hardly matters, Adu still doesn't play defense.

He's a journeyman reject from the French Ligue. Plenty of talent along with plenty of attitude.

He should also know that lower level Greek league teams are NOTHING like what we'll face in SA. It's easy to look good when the opposition is middling.

This parting shot is really unnecessary, seeing as you know full well we've tried to curb rhetoric that labels folks as "fanboys" and "haters." No further incursions into that territory, please.

everyone has his own opinion and that's smthg we have to respect but still I don't agree.

I have been a fan of Adu since his 14.Was in London doing my studies and was playing football manager when I discovered a wonderkid named Adu. The same night I watched a game of DC United when at 60' Adu was subbed in. He scored a goal by a great shoot outside the box, created another one and was a constant source of danger for the oposition defence. I was shocked! It was the same gut feeling I had when i watched Ronaldo for the first time when he was in PSV.(I think it was 3-3 against Werder Bremen). I saw enough to make me a huge fan of Adu's talent.
You can imagine how happy I am to have this player play for my team now. The talent is there so is the perspective. If he listens to his coach he will become world class.

It is good that Freddy and EJ are getting minutes and being successful with their club team. That is a long way from them being locks for the USMNT. The level of play, how they continue to progress, what they show about overcoming their perceived limitations in the past, what they show when they come to camp, how others are doing, will all go into whether they find themselves on the USMNT team for SA.

As a USMNT I am happy that two potential players who could help our depth and, maybe, our first team quality, are finally getting some minutes and success. I hope that both EJ and Freddy continue to work hard to improve, because their place on the USMNT is still far from assured.

Can't agree with that. Take your group for example. It's USA, England, Algeria and Slovenia right? There are many players in Greece that are at the same level with the Algerian and the Slovenian NT players. In fact there are 3 players in the Slovenian squad who are playing for Larissa, PAS Giannina and Panetolikos (second division team)! And two players playing for Algeria, that currently play for AEK and PAS Giannena. So yes, he'll face something like that there cuz if you want to make it to the next phase you'll have to beat those guys.

Big time snap. As to the "like Argentina or Spain" I'll be very happy if the USMNT gets that far in the tourney. Let's not count any chickens.

I'm surprised this thread has so few posts. I mean, Adu scored!
