Guys - please don't post your email addresses in this forum. I assume you can contact directly via PM or email?
Nice from EJ, he contributed on the buildup to both goals, including the "assist" on the first. Go, EJ and Freddy! Thanks to our Aris friends - you have contributed so much to our understanding of the club and thanks for your welcome to us and our players.
Wow...that's bold. Not sure I'd post my email address on a public message board. I would recommend you editing your post to remove your email address, since it appears your request has been met. PS - Welcome to BS. I hope you like it here as much as I do.
Eddie's run and Freddy's sliding tackles were the best YA moments in this game. Tzonson's control was so-so by the Ronaldo/George Best standards but that looked like a pretty worn down pitch. I think he also was a bit faked out by a defender closing the inside for him, which made him quickly bounce the ball to the outside. He may have been better served taking it center-left and onto his left foot. Still, this was a 60 yard full-speed run, whereas in the past he was more likely to pass it back when against three defenders. Adu's goal was greatly abetted by his defender falling asleep and ball watching. It looks like the defender was expected the cross to come in across the 6-yard box and, because of that, dropped off too deeply. As to the game, did Aris actually play a 4-3-3- today?
Anybody going to do the video of all of Adu's and EJ's touches/plays during the game again. Those are so awesome.
Yes i ll try, but its getting difficult if he starts playing 90 minutes, so arismania is better solution from now on.
word. Seeing those peeps runndown the stairs to go crazy for our fellow countrymen is a nice scene. What was the name of that polka type of song being played over the loudspeakers? The club song?
To be honest, 98% of those people did not watch the game at all. They see the highlight goal and they go..........Wow he scored a tap-in, so what. When that was just a piece( Although a massive won for Aris and 3 points) in his whole game today of overall evaluation. This thread is where you want to be with Johan and our Aris boys providing second by second match commentary. Not those blogs where they dont watch many games and just eat up whatever Ives or whoever decievingly throws at them with a little milk and cookies. One of the earlier comments in this thread was Johan saying how Adu is beating his man repeatively, when nobody could really watch the game but him..........you wont find that on those blogs. And you wont find the gifs that are provided by Johan either. The good thing is Bob Bradley and his team are watching these Aris games. So bob knows how well Adu is playing. And even EJ for that matter.
I remember a couple of weeks ago in his blog Bill Archer took issue with the idea that a player might want to go to Europe because the atmosphere is better. He used one of Aris' games against Xanthi as an example because it was a small stadium. I thought that was absolutely ridiculous - the kind of thing someone might say if he'd never experienced a match in Athens or Thess. It's only a small sample size, but I've been to matches in England, Amsterdam, DC, Houston and Athens and it's not even close. The Panathinaikos crowd was hands down the most intense I've ever seen. My chest was shaking from the noise and I was still about five blocks from the stadium. I've never experienced energy like it. The smell of tear gas mixing with souvlaki was awesome. If anyone is ever in Greece during the season, you absolutely have to go a match. It is amazing. You will not regret it.
ARIS has the oldest hymn in Greek football. Boemis wrote it at 1954. The lyrics are very touching for us, since we have the same feeling as Boemis at 1954. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2jWj4VdvsA"]YouTube- ??? ?????? ??? ????? ??????[/ame] There is a modern mix though, but i think every Aris fan likes the original one.Greek song of course, i dont think you ll like it [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8UdcAUa8yg"]YouTube- ARIS YMNOS FULL[/ame]
I haven't watched the match yet. I'm downloading it right now. It might take a day or two, but I'll put up a video of their touches.
It's also a highly skilled shot on goal. Adu makes it look easy but getting in position to put a driven cross in from 7 yards is hard enough. A lot of players have blown such opportunities and ones even closer. He didn't even break stride as he placed it confidently in the back of the net.
indeed. you sometimes see even the best of them sky that ball over the net. as i said before, it's not as easy as it looks.
In addition to anticipation, timing and placement, Freddy showed a certain amount of desire, too. His defender was a fraction late in reacting to the pass, and that was all Freddy needed. Even though he was pretty calm in slotting home, he broke to the ball pretty quick - like he was not going to be denied. I like that attitude. It's really nice to see Freddy do well.
Do you guys sing this at the games? Do you have a clip of the fans singing this at a game? Love the song by the way!!! Also can you do a translation of the lyrics? maybe I can do an English version...
