Yes in every football league in the world, when you go to 10 men, you probably need to play a bit more defensively. Not a surprise at all. Adu has played well today, but defense is not his game.
During his last game at Belenenses (I feel dirty even typing that word), he looked bigger, faster, and stronger than before. And played solid defense, including a very strong, purposeful slide tackle. It was, surprisingly, his offensive game that looked off to me. (This worried me, because even if he's a great defender, well, there are a lot of those. It's his skills on offense that make him stand out.) Glad to see him apparently looking solid on both sides of the ball today.

the vid works just fine with VLC. but i also had a virus attack. not sure from where since i got like 8 windows opened. had to reboot and ran virus scan. lol. i guess it was worth for Adu's goal. hahahaha
From a club perspective, it is great to see the 2 Yanks doing well and contributing. From a Nats and Wizards fan perspective, it is great to see Eddy and Freddy doing all of those things they have not done to a great extent previously - working extremely hard off the ball, taking chances, driving at people, coming back to help and playing defence across the field... great stuff. Freddy's first clip taking on 2 defenders back on page 5 or 6 - the first take, off the back heel of the second player he turned, and then getting control, and then the foul (not called) - beautiful stuff. Eddy - coming back to collect the ball and then several beautiful touches and a drive straight down the field attacking 3 players and the difficult attempt... things are looking very good. Huge 'thank you' to the Aris' fans - I don't know if I have ever seen this level of pashion, clips, stories on our yanks - our 2 yanks are at a GREAT club!!!
