Yoshi and Patterson both sign with Crystal Palace Baltimore. A whole new Ballgame for CP Also Nelly Akwari signed with Vancouver.... http://www.kelowna.com/2010/01/27/j...2-nelson-akwaris-resume-reads-like-good-book/ The writing was on the wall about yoshi, heard there was interest in him from a few MLS clubs as well. Nelly is too young and too good and I hope he can stick with Vancouver when they make the move up next season. Patterson was an enigma, you could tell he had an eye for goal but just couldnt seem to get it all together at times. Good luck guys (except when you play the Battery!)
Sanfillippo to Rochester There was talk of him getting interest from some MLS clubs and not surprised he is moving on. A great player and wish him luck. As to who is left, I know there are a few players that are still in the area.
John Wilson is in Colorado on trial. I heard we have 9 people on the roster right now. There are more trials this weekend.
yeah heard that one a couple weeks ago but the details weren final. I always knew keeping our back line was going to be tough, even if we stayed in Division 2. We were very solid across the back. I imagine we will see some of our younger players like Nigel Marples, the Cuban Bermudez, and Patrick Tate sticking around this season and possible some of the older, er, I mean "experienced, ones as well. The Battery start their invite trials today so im going to try to head down there this afternoon for abit to see who is down there other than the Cubans, but with 2-6" of snow forcasted starting this afternoon I'm not sure I want to be out in the mess....
Darren Spicer to Rochester.... http://www.democratandchronicle.com/article/20100219/SPORTS/2190333/1007/SPORTS/Sports-briefs hope we hear some good news soon.....
I know the season doesn't start until April, but I'm hoping we will see some positive press releases from the FO soon. It would be nice to get familiar with our "new" team before Mar 13!
so we had another one on the line and lost him too... Steve Clark's quest for a pro career began with an end-of-season trial as a backup keeper with the United Soccer Leagues' Charleston Battery in the USL First Division, equivalent to Triple-A baseball. While Clark saw no game action with the Battery, he said that his presence was noticed, and that he, again, exceeded all expectations. "I had a great time down there," he said. "I worked hard in practice, and they really started to respect what I could do. After the season, Charleston's coach called me into his office and said that I could have started, they just didn't know about my experience level." Clark then followed up on some contacts in the Norwegian league, starting with an unsuccessful trial at Staebek. Instead of coming back home to try his luck in the American minor leagues, he clung to his dream of European pro soccer, well, like a Bulldog, and landed at Honefoss, a newly-promoted club to Norway's top flight. When the signing bonus is more than I'd make at Charleston in a whole year, it made the decision a lot easier," he said. "At first, I just wanted a one-year contract, but I think having a two-year deal will give me more stability. And if I do well, and have a chance to go to a bigger club, I can do that." http://www.lansingstatejournal.com/article/20100218/SPORTS/2180356/1019/SPORTS
