I just got off the phone with Red Bull NY and purchased a pair of tickets for both matches. It cost me a total of $127 for a pair of seats for both games. I'm in 228, Row 11- Can't wait! Now all we have to do is avoid the lockout

When are the group ticket packages going on sale?

Package holders of previous years were supposed to get priority on the purchase of the 2010 season tickets and 2010 8 and 4 game packages. But what kind of priority is it when RB have already had a Holiday Package and now "Stage is Set" package that is available to the public? I would have thought the 8/4 game packages would have gone on sale first.

I believe season ticket holders were given priority to buy tickets for these matches up to 2 days prior to the "Stage Is Set" pack being opened up to the public.

What I'm trying to say is I've bought 8 game packages in the past. I want to buy a couple of 8 game packages this year and use some tickets for the home opener. But what kind of priority am I given if the public is being given these Holiday packages and stage is set packages and now grabbing these seats?

By the time RB starts selling the 8/4 game packages and gives me my supposed priority on those packages, I'll be able to have seats 1-4 in section xxx for 1 game but not for the next game I pick because those seats may have been already bought by a Holiday Pack purchaser. My seats may wind up being scattered. that's why i thought they would have allowed us to buy the 8/4 game packages ahead of providing these mini holiday and stage is set packages to the public... let the public fill in the empty seats, not the loyal package holders for years past.

If it helps you feel any better, all the packages being sold are being limited to 200-level seats, because they are holding all lower bowl seats for season tickets. But, yeah, if you had your heart set on an upper bowl seat for your 8-game package, it would seem you've got a gripe. If you want the lower-bowl, though, you still have priority because they haven't released them to anyone but full-season plan holders yet.

Didn't know where to post this but the marketing blitz appears to have started. I saw a huge "Stage is Set" billboard on the northbound side of the Jersey Turnpike between exit 13 and 14. It's the standard artists view of the completed stadium with big stage is set lettering but with actual game info too small to read. I'm guessing this is the first phase of a pretty involved campaign with concentration on the team to follow.

Good to hear. I am really hoping that, towards the end of the month, I hear an actual ad on FAN or 1050. Anyone want to lay odds?

I hope so too. It's so hard to figure out how to promote soccer/MLS/Red Bull in the metro area. I agree with what holiday posted in another thread, the only success soccer has really had in these parts came with the Babe Ruth of soccer, Pele, spearheading it. How many potential fans are you going to reach on WFAN or ESPN 1050? Who knows? It may be that the grassroots work Onionsack and other like-minded folks do will produce the immediate spikes but long term success will come when soccer gradually breaks into the consciousness of mainstream sports-fans through SportsCenter/FAN/1050 etc. Or maybe the demographic trends will reach the tipping point and overnight soccer and our home team the Red Bulls will have arrived. Just don't know.

The have the same ad eastbound on 495 as you're heading into the city via the Lincoln tunnel from the turnpike and Rt. 3. That's a lot of eyeballs every morning

I picked up a few extra tickets for the first two games, could get them only in the 200 sections. I was told the 100 are for season ticket holders only.
I would call the ticket rep and try to get the 8 pack or reserve it. I am pretty sure you can.

No big deal but I made my post about the billboard on the Turnpike before you started the Red Bull Advertising thread...just saying...

Maybe the mods can move the billboard sightings and marketing comments to your thread.
