    1) He blames the deficits on Bush.

    2) Says his budget, which will increase the deficit to 1.56 trillion, will save the economy or improve it.

    3) If it works, will he credit Bush for the recovery?

    4) Didn't Obama vote FOR Bush's deficits & hasn't he at least tripled them?

Will someone help me out here? I fell like Vinnie Barbarino..."I'm sooo confused!"

The bunny was teh awesum. And I missed both steve-o's and Steamer's posts because they're on my ignore list. I just knew that if Steamer started the thread that the original post would be something stupid.

Actually, we should all blame Reagan. He turned us from the world's largest creditor into its largest debtor in less than 8 years and got Americans hooked on the illusion that we could just endlessly borrow our way to prosperity. In 1950, the gross Federal debt stood at 94% of GDP due to war debts. By 1981, both parties had worked it down to approximately 30%. Then came Ronnie. By the time Reagan left office with his borrow-and-waste practices, it shot back up to 53%. Under Bush I, it further rose to 66%.

Under Clinton, it dropped to 57% but then Bush II raised it right back up to 65% while also plunging us into the worst economy since the Depression and wasting his massive deficits on the sinkhole of Iraq who hadn't even attacked us.

So, you tell me which party's presidents are more fiscally responsible.

What part of that don't you understand?

No, because the recession was still rampant under Bush and his measures weren't doing anything. He just threw money at the banks without holding them accountable for anything. Because Reeps believe accountability and responsibility are for sucks.

You say that like running a deficit now that we actually need it is a bad thing. At least Obama looks like he'll invest it in America and not just piss it away on $900 toilet seats for the Pentagon and corporate giveaways like the Reeps have been doing whenever they've been in power the past 40 years.

Trust me, nobody here is the least bit surprised.

OK, there. Done and done. Can we close this thread now or do I have to bust out teh kittyz?
