Yeah, I don't see us paying that to be honest. Who knows. Rocchi is also a target, etc. Sucks that we have to spend money because Mutu decided to pick up some pills at the gas station or wherever and be a dumbass.

absolutely everywhere is saying that we have him on loan.

    http://www.fiorentina.it/notizia.asp?IDNotizia=80782

what does "Fiorentina and Sampdoria have reached agreement on a loan with no right of redemption" mean exactly?? kinda like a loan and we can't buy him after?

May have to do with the transfer clause that Samp signed with Real Madrid where they would be guaranteed a certain amount if Cassano was sold.

Here's our answer. (and if foolball-italia has it then it's usually true)

[FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular]The transfer would suit both parties, as it does not include an option to buy at the end of the season.

I'm not sure how I feel about this...I feel like Cassano would be making a deal with the devil in a way. But if anyone can control him and get the most out of him, it's Prandelli.

Basically it sounds to me like we would get him on loan with no option to buy, as in we'd have to do full negotiations if we want to buy him completely..mostly thanks to Madrid.

    Very interesting..

He's not as versatile as Mutu but he's about 100x more creative and that's what we need, in my opinion. Gilardino is going to score buckets of goals playing in front of Marchionni, Cassano and Vargas.

I can tell you this. The Cassano fanboy traffic on our forum will pick up. Joy.

When we win, we'll score 4-5 goals a game.

This is going to help us in the CL no doubt.

It would take some of the load off of Zanetti and Montolivo, too. We could even play Donadel and Bolatti as central midfielders and let Cassano and Vargas create for us. That would make us much more beefy.

I knew he was on the trading block when Del Neri benched him but I doubt the Viola would have signed him if Mutu wasn't caught for drugs....

Interesting move. Cassano is a risk (seems to have problems everywhere he goes), but the potential reward with him is pretty big. Think this will work out for us at least for a while because I seem to remember that Cassano has usually started off on his new team doing well. It's only after he's someplace for a while that the problems arise. It's a great situation for Cassano though. He should play inspired for us. Lined up with Gila the two of them could make an argument for being the starters for Italy in SA.

Hope we still get to see Jojo and the other youngsters out there. Also hope Mutu's punishment isn't that harsh (since, even though what he took is illegal, it doesn't seem to provide much of a performance advantage, at least as far as I know).

    Assholes.

I hope he enjoys toiling away in the middle of the Serie A table with no CL play or Coppa play to worry about.

    Typical Genovese cheapasses.

I have a feeling he will go back to Bari after the season. They seem to be playing real well and with a few players, they can challenge for the higher seeds of the Serie A.

That would make them stronger for sure, and would be an interesting addition. I would like to see more strength from the south (until of course we have to play them). :D
