sorry if this is the wrong place to put it, just move or delete if it is. i was asked to make a list of the 10 best mexican players ever. so i need your help because i really dont know much from the past. ill get the obvious ones out the way. please help (doesnt need to be in order of best) 1. Hugo Sanchez 2. Cuauhtemoc Blanco 3. Rafael Marquez 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10.
Few names that come to mind from my years watching. Negrete, Garcia Aspe, Benjamin Galindo, Luis Garcia, Hermosillo, Borguetti, Claudio Suarez, Ambriz, Jorge Campos, Pardo, Pelaez, Matador, Zague I liked watching Miguel España, Mamon Mamirez (Ramirez, but he was kinda of a jerk sometimes). Maybe because I am from Monterrey, but Cabrito would have been an awesome Liga player had he not been such a skinny runt. This are a few that came to mind, I'm sure I'm forgetting other important ones, not to mention the old timers (Borja, Casarin, but never really saw them) PS: For any Pardo haters out there, please keep in mind he was a World Cup starter before he turned 22. /p
Probably I'm the only Indonesian Supporting Mexico whole-heartedly Based on my very limited knowledge, I can come up with this list. I can only fill 6 of them... 1) Hugo Sanchez --- Well known even in Indonesia. Nuf said 2) Cuahtemoc Blanco ---Confed Cup 1999, Copa Oro 1996 & 1998 3) Jared Borgetti --- All-time Leading Scorer, Copa Oro 2003, 3 golden boots 4) Rafael Marquez --- El Capitan despite his flaws 5) Luis Hernandez --- Confed Cup 1999, Copa Oro 1996 & 1998, 4 Goals in WC. I watch his world cup goals in Youtube and they are nothing short of spectacular. 6) Pavel Pardo I don't know much about your past heroes of the 70's and 80's so I am not going to list them.Soon: Gio 2Santos will be on the list...I dare to say because the kid has won you U17 WC & Copa Oro 2009
top 3 without a doubt are gonna be Hugo, Rafa, and Temoc. i think the rest of the list will vary here's my top 10 1 - Hugo 2 - Rafa 3 - Cuauhtemoc 4 - Benjamin Galindo 5 - Ramon Ramirez 6 - Jorge Campos 7 - Claudio Suarez 8 - Beto Aspe 9 - Jared Borgetti 10 - Carlos Hermosillo
If anyone is interested it looks like the guy who's on every list, Blanco, and Veracruz are playing in the Tijuana/San Diego area twice. First over the weekend against Club Tijuana and next week on Feb 2nd against the new NPSL club SD Boca FC. The game in SD is at 7:30 at Helix High School. This will be SD Boca's first game.
Not saying these are the best, but a decent team would be: Campos, Ramon ramirez on left, Suarez and Rafa as central, Ambriz on right?? Aspe, Pavel, Galindo. Temo as a 10 with Hugol and Borguetti up front. Hard to tell how the team would "gel". Ramirez played mid in Chivas, but left D by Mejia Baron, like this example players were used differently depending on the rest of the team they were in, so hard to say how this would work as a team, but you asked. No Tota for me, but since we have no long list of accomplished keepers it is worth mentioning him if anything by his longevity merits. I did mention Casarin and Borja, but little video for me to see. /p
1. Hugo 2. Cuauh 3. Rafa 4. Borja 5. L.Hernandez 6. R.Ramirez 7. L.Garcia 8. Hermosillo 9. Zague 10.J. Campos
Zague was crap. he only had one good year..1993 or 1992..after that he didn't contribute much for el tri.
6th all time in scoring domestically and for the NT is crap? maybe you don't think he'd be top 10, but he was not crap.
well then if we go by that then Hugo shouldnt be on the list right.... Zague scored more than 200 goals int he mexican league and 30 goals for the NT....he needsd to be on there..
he has martinique to thank for that record. most of the goals he made he would just park himself up front and wait for a teammate to give him the ball. there was a reason why we would call one each other zague in primary school if we failed to put in a clear one when we played our pick-up matches.
Borgetti comes to mind but he's scored great goals against Italy, Germany, and Brazil so i'll overlook that
