The best part about all of this John Terry stuff? By the end of July the same British press will be putting the blame on Capello, Terry & the players for failing to win the World Cup... and the public will (by-and-large) buy into it ! All this despite the fact that we are witnessing England's most formidable opponent right now - their own undermining, farcical tabloid press and the vast number of English people that buy them and agree with what they say. It is borderline surreal... If there are any sociology/psychology students reading here - say hello to your thesis.

Y'know what? I'll have to take your word for it as I take it you've had both? I remember you posting up a pic of an Irish breakfast ages ago and me asking about the white pudding - well I think I did anyway. Gonna have to try it one day.
Didn't know you left off the white pudding? That makes it even worse! I was commenting on your rashers and sometimes sausages being crap, to be honest! Random fact about pudding - I think it was truer of black pudding, but until 1990/91ish when there was some new regulation brought in, there were traces of sheep's brain matter in the stuff.
Is there anything you'd actually want to eat in those 'puddings'? (I'm just curious; I'd never touch either.) Anyway, on the JT thing....a few months ago I was asking what JT had done to make the press go after him so much (mom, dad, NOTW sending fake people on a tour of the Chelsea training ground). So is this it? Was the press just angry that they were prevented from printing THIS story? Or is this the next mountain being made out of an (embarrassing) molehead? ie Was the Wayne Bridge's wife? Or his girlfriend? or his ex-girlfriend recently estranged? or his ex-girlfriend from way back? JT is married? has children?
How very dare her... ...Taxi for Christiano Ronaldo... *said in a Tim Lovejoy voice when he was on Soccer AM kidz*
Not much, but they taste really good (white pudding anyway, not too fond of black) and are life-savers on weekend mornings (hangovers), soak up all the nastiness from last night and all that. Interesting take on Terry btw, that might have played a role alright. I just reckon they are getting the 'sell as many papers as possible, ethics and England's chances of a World cup be damned' roll going a little earlier than beforehand, to be honest.
I'm truly sorry....exactly what did he do to be dad of the year? I assume the same thing he did to be in the CL team of the year? (whatever that was) Anyway, I guess the kids are small. I hope anyway...maybe they'll be oblivious. I always feel sorry for the actual people involved in these messes. I read somewhere about what this "human rights policy" is preventing the English media from telling all these juicy stories all of a sudden -- that it's come from recent judicial rulings and is really something new (for England anyway). That this story was blocked by the court for months, and that the press couldn't even hint that such a story existed....I don't quite get why it all of a sudden could be released?
aye, there is a picture from the same game that's more revealing in this regard. Smalling got beat by Agbonlahor for the Villa goal. Like mid-week though; Schwarzer has to take the most blame though.
There is a big uproar in media circles about so called "super-injunctions", which prevent a story being told AND prevent the media from saying that there is an injunction in place preventing them from reporting something. You can read a little bit about them here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2009/oct/13/super-injunctions-guardian-carter-ruck Both the media and most of the people applying for these injunctions deserve little to no sympathy, IMO.
he's got years to learning top level football ahead of him. Letting him play out this season with Fulham was certainly the right thing to do. Villa had a dip in form after they beat us, and now they're getting back in form again before we have to play them away. And Fulham have really dropped off since they beat us!
There was the story last year about the Derby coach -- with pictures....Did he just not have the right set of lawyers to keep the story out of the press? Or is there something else involved as well?
Mainly because Zamora as expected has had a dry spell. They don't have many goals in them. More importantly (and especially with regards to the Fulham game), we wouldn't have lost to either if we didn't have a full-blown defensive crisis. Smalling has a shot on target on a corner. Fulham are coming close in this half.
lesson learned... if you get shot at and members of your traveling party get killed, you better play your next game or else!
