My yellow card is finally gone.

this means I can make threads.

this means Braga vs Sporting thread

    game is on friday

in one corner, you have the league leaders. No its not Benfica, and no its not Porto.

    its SC Braga.

    who?

    heres a link

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S.C._Braga

    an excerpt

Sporting Clube de Braga (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈspɔɾtĩɡ ˈklub(ɨ) dɨ ˈbɾaɡɐ]) (Euronext: SCB), commonly known as Sporting de Braga or just Braga, is a Portuguese sports club, from the city of Braga, that was founded in 1921. Its football team plays at the AXA Stadium, also known as The Quarry, which was built for UEFA Euro 2004. In the 2000s, the club gradually became one of Portugal's most successful clubs after the Big Three, and they have also competed with relative success in European competitions, winning the last ever UEFA Intertoto Cup in 2008. Sporting Braga is currently sponsored by Italian sportswear company Macron.

in the other corner you have the club who needs no introduction

    Sporting Clube de Portugal.

Hard work, devotion, dedication, and Glory

Sporting will be going to The Quarry aka Estadio Axa. its in a rock. expect a hostile atmosphere, especially against our new right back Joao Pereira who could not say no to the chance of donning the eternal green and white sweater of our fabled club.

donning the sporting kit (plus money) > chance at a league title

lets hope for a good game. honestly its interesting to have braga playing so well at the top.. hope for a good game I cant wait for this one

    FORCA SPORTING VENCE POR NOS

Hoping for a good internet stream of the match, and of course, the Leões are getting 3 points this Friday.

This still might be Veloso's last game in Sporting shirt so you'll want to remember this match.

My man google zepirata tv, great website. I doubt veloso will be leaving this month, but this is a must win for us. Really hoping veloso fires in a 30 yard bomb thats puts Braga in its place. Its funny how Braga fans beleive their the best club in the world because of their only title contending year.

Bitter sweet game for me, since we are officially out of the league title run, I pretty much know we'll win there. Just that we'll be helping the lampioes, and damn I would hate if the lampioes win the title because of this Braga loss.
On another note the Braga players and coach are considering themselves favorites, just what the Sporting players need to kick their arses.

I still optimistic SCP can win that title...but that's not being very realistic. We need CL soccer so the goal as always is Second place and that will be tough as well this year. SCP usually play well up in Braga so I expect a 0-1 or 1-2 result.

Sporting are at full strength since Izmailov was just cleared by the medical staff and did practice this morning.

Keep the faith and Forca Sporting.

I like how you assumed that anybody opening this thread didn't
    A. Know who the leaders were
    B. Know about Braga...

As for the game... I think it'll pretty much seal the fate of Sporting if they lose. If Braga lose I don't see it having too much of an effect outside of the missed points.

its easy to take for granted Sporting's status as an iconic global brand, but not all of our website's readers know what is this SC Braga thing.

we have fans in croatia (welcome to the new guy again), but braga doesnt. sporting is global, its world wide, its a way of life and an ideology.

Full-squad tomorrow. Braga is seen as the faviortes... this is Sporting's momen to send a message to the world. We are sitll alive and will fight until the end

Z hits another one outside of the park. Hilarious stuff. I can concede that not everyone knows who Braga are (although our name has been on the rise every year for the past 5 years) to say Sporting is a global brand etc is just comedic Gold.

Good game so far. Perreira is playing well. Rodriguez has Liedson in his back pocket. I am surprised Saliero is starting again.

I don't see why is Saleiro starting when you have H.Postiga and Y.Djalo on disposal.

Saleiro is pretty good. Not as speedy as Djalo but I rate him higher at this point and time. Postiga for me is over the hill, he isn't in the best form though but its a good option to have.

Anyways, Braga just scored. Meyong completely schooled Pedro Silva(of course) and then simply cut in and held of Perreira before getting a shot off. It clipped Tonel and found the back of the net.

    1 - 0.

Sporting are going to get one back though.

Because Saleiro is in great form. Personally, Im a Yannick fan and think the best pair would be Yannick/Liedson or Pongolle/Liedson. Saleiro would be a good sub in the 2nd half.

I am confused right now. Didn't Adrien just pick up his 2nd Yellow card? Or was that Moutinho beforehand?

EDIT: Never mind it was Carrico before.

Braga are playing really well. Sporting is unlucky not to get one yet as well. Some better balls could have been played by Perreira(He really is a bad crosser of the ball), and Liedson missed a good oppertunity.

Boy is Braga bringing it to Sporting. Almost scored a 2nd goal. Even without Pereira, Braga is still playing just as well. Veloso and Liedson are going to need a big 2nd half if Sporting is going to tie or win this game. Im hoping for a tie or Sporting win...never thought id say that or than when its Sporting vs. Porto but Braga needs to lose some damn points.

Rodriguez and Hugo Viana are having a hell of a game. Moutinho and Saleiro on the other end are playing well.
