Let's continue to kick ass here.

Here's hoping for a fully fit Ribery to return!

Someone 'leaked' that this is on GOLTV... is that correct????

Thank God. I guess now that Bayern are starting to stay within striking distance of the top spot, perhaps we can anticipate seeing them more often. I hope!

I don't know if you call that a leak, or just the slackers at GolTV just actually doing there job and updating their programming schedule earlier than usual...

Probably won't see Ribery starting in this one.

He didn't look 100% against Ingolstadt, and he's admitted it himself.

    I'd expect-

    -----------Butt
    Lahm----DvB--Demi---Bads
    --------MvB--Schweini
    Robben--------------Muller
    --------Gomez-Olic

~60 minutes the attack will switch to-

    Rob-----Muller-----Rib
    --------Gomez

And the slackers at ESPN360 still not having a clue which teams they will be showing this weekend. But they are showing the Friday game.

But this isn't about GolTV or ESPN.

This is about Bayern and Mainz. And Bayern winning about 4-1.

Dont know if thats a good thing that its on GOLTV. Two weeks ago it was very sh#@ty coverage.

On the away match we made mistakes in the first half and tried to catch up in the 2nd but couldnt. I think it was Mueller who got our goal but we couldnt put the others away. Hopefully our finishing boots will be on saturday

I for one am not happy its on GolTV. There coverage is horrible, and half the time there are dropouts on the feed. Its like watching a bad internet stream. I'd much rather see it on epsn360.

Agree with nekki, GOLTV is really the worst of the networks in my opinion.

I want to trash this team badly.

I think Mainz shouldn't be an opponent that we need to fear. Their defense is average and especially since their austrian "star" Ivanschitz lost his superb form of the early weeks their entire play became kind of average and slow.

They've got a quite good goalkeeper with Heinz Müller. Ivanschitz is a good player in the midfield and bancé and schürrle are solid players in the offense but should be no big deal for our defense.

Should be kind of a 3-1 or 4-1 with a "Demichellis-Gedächtnis-Gegentor" (for those who unterstand german ) which means that our "super dribbling star" Demichellis is always good for a mental blackout. :p

    Expected starting lineup:

[LINEUP-4-4-2]Olíc, Gomez, Müller, Schweinsteiger, van Bommel, Robben, Badstuber, Demichellis, van Buyten, Lahm, Butt[/LINEUP-4-4-2]

I think Mainz still have it in them to do well in the second half of the season. They won't match the form of the hinrunde but they won't be pushovers in any case.

GolTV is a joke of a network, no doubt. But the cutting in and out in the last game they showed was the first time I've ever seen that happen with them during a Bayern game. I would much rather watch it on GolTV than an internet stream. Since ESPN360 or Deportes are unavailable for me I'm pumped whenever GolTV gets the Bayern games.:D

It was because of the weather that was going on in Europe at the time.

I don't live there so I don't know exactly what was going on, but there was a huge cold front with tons of snow and I'm sure that's why the connection was terrible.

First off, I just am thankful I can WATCH Bayern as a year ago on Dish Network there were NO options as they dumped GOLTV and had not picked up the German Sports Network.

Secondly, as disappointed as I was with the coverage last time (the well documented cutting out of transmission), I will agree with Kyle9 that this is the first time I have seen it that badly on GOL before. Seeing that is the case...

Thirdly, I would then have to agree with DieRoten... that this thus must have been weather related.

What I do appreciate about GOLTV that you do NOT get on ESPN2 HD or FSC is the format of the picture. It seems to be in 16:9 format most of the time and would look amazing in my theater, if it were in fact transmitted in HD.

I can only hope that FSC's soon-to-be public HD channel will drive GOLTV to think likewise.

I am just not sure I want to see Ray Hudson's face in HD!!! :p

As you seem to complain about your commentator I can guarantee that some german commentators aren't any better. I think of Fritz of Thurn and Thaxis or Wolf-Dieter Poschmann. Especially Poschmann regularely makes me feel really angry.

Bazi, I wish we could send you a video of this guy. Its not that he's bad, so much as hilarious. The guy nearly orgasms at Messi's every touch of the ball...

"If needs be, we'll have to go in front early on and hope it's all over soon. Taking the lead in the sixth minute and hearing the final whistle in the twelfth would be ideal." - Mainz coach Thomas Tuchel.

He's also said he wants to run a 5-5-2 so that he can 'park the team bus' in front of the goal, yet still be able to hit FCB on the counter.... :p Cheeky b@stard he is...
