FOX Sports Esp is showing Argentina vs Mexico U-20 game. Never seen it, it is the first half and about 25min in, the score is 1-0 to Mexico.

The final score is 2-0. Nothing to see really.

Exactly, now it isn't just Batista or Brown but also Humberto Grondona. And if you look at the squad, it was clear that Orfano, Espindola and Cirigliano alone weren't going to do it, and Araujo? and Olid Apasa? and Villava? and Damián Martínez? and Tagliafico? and Butler? Why just 3 from the U17 world Cup? If there was more than just 3. So yeah, there're better players but for a reason or another they can't appear.

Everyone knows about Erik Lamela (striker at River Plate) but another name to keep in mind is Gabriel Funes Mori (striker at River Plate)

Because these two guys are about 18 and 19 years old, there isn't enough news about them.

Can someone in Argentina tell us more about Mori and Lamela? Mainly, what are River's plans for these two youngsters?

Aguero wasn't on the team for U-19 qualifiers in 07, I don't think he was on the squad for U15 either.

Zabaleta was the captain for the 05 team.

Is Leandro Depetris still a prospect? What about Lucas Trecarichi?

I am not talking about U20 qualifiers in 2007, but U17 qualifiers in 2005, the ones Argentina didn't go past the first round.

Both Trecarichi and Depetris didn't really have much chances to do anything... The latter left Huracán.

While watching Real Madrid y Malaga today I kept hearing a name for Malaga that sound familiar and it was Fernando Forestieri. So I searched the net and found out he was born in Argentina in 1990 but decided to play Italia. Born to Italian parents in Argentina he left Argentina because he felt it was "too dangerous". He was a part of Boca's youth system but left to Italia as a teen. Kid has some nice runs in the game but I doubt he would of made it big on our youth programs. We have far much better youth players then him.

If i recall correctly, he was a very important player for Italy's youth teams with teammates like Balotelli, then again there hasn't been much of italian wonderkids or young jewels in the recent years.

He (Forestieri) was the subject of much hype, and was touted as the next big thing and the next "Messi". Unfortunately for him, this turned out to be bull****, as he was been released by a succession of Italian clubs and now finds himself playing for Malaga.

Agreed, he has seem to flopped. He is already 20, and at that age players like Kun and Lio had already made somewhat of a mark in their footballing history. So trying to hype up a player, I for one have never been a major fan of. Leave the kid alone and lets see how he does. Forestieri had potential(Still does) but that was it. If he was smart he would of stuck around in Argentina with Boca's youth team to become a much better player. I for one think Keko can become a much much better player(If he is not now) if he stays around with River for a couple more years. Or Salvio who is with ATL Madrid right now.

Not that playing for Malaga is exactly flopping. Only a small minority stake out a long career in the top leagues, and only a few from each U-20 class. He may still improve, and I think we should wait untill he's 28 before we write off his prospects for playing for us. :)

I know that guy you guys are talking about. If he hasn't done anything to deliver on his hype by 23, he's a flop.

Perhaps flop is a little harsh, but certainly he is not even close to living up to the hype that surrounded him about 3 years ago. That is why Genoa, Sienna etc were happy to let him leave. He's not the first and he certainly won't be the last young player who is tagged as the "new Messi" only to see them fail to live up to the expectation that is placed on young shoulders.

If he doesn't deliver up to the hype, he's a flop. He'll be a footballer probably.
