I personally think it's because his legs aren't quite there yet. He usually doesn't cough up the ball like he has a few times.
I think if he wasn't before, he certainly will now and Mancini will probably want him gone too because I expect more fall-out. Robinho has a massive ego that tends to get him in trouble wherever he's been & he isn't very loyal. He'll probably still make the CBF roster but if he isn't playing and does as poorly as this, he won't be there. Donovan on the other hand is maybe coming to the end of his game today. But it was a pretty solid showing. Another match and he shows he's more than capable at this level.
Just a bit hesitant at times... Showed his speed there causing Garrido to knock ball over end line for corner. Pienaar whips dangerous cross in for another corner. LD finds Fro beautifully this time and header off of post !
Not so much uncertainty. He needs to be patient and look for a new move. Donovan usually tries to beat players with his speed, not with his foot work. He can't simply knock it by defenders like he does in MLS, these players are too good.
Donovan's great corner to Fellaini almost gets him an assist. Shay Given with an awesome save. Still 2-0 in the 79th minute.
That makes sense. He seems to be making decent runs, but his touch is inexact in the way tiredness can cause it to be. ----- Oof. Too bad. Fellaini really deserves a goal.
man I wish Fellani was American. Imagine him and Bradley running around like crazy in the center of our midfield
Donovan finds Fellaini on a corner for the Brazillionth time, this time a line drive that Fro powers off Given and the post.
How the heck does Given keep that one out? Even still, Donovan appears to be looking for Fellaini's big fro every time, and hits it and it lands there. Those two are controlling the game, and dictating Everton's attack right now, set pieces or not.
For Everton, imagine if Arteta were there. Saha, Donovan could run into space and get the ball in more dangerous positions. They still really miss him.
