Manchester City and their fat bloated payroll visits Goodison Park this Saturday.

Hey, it's only 3 1/2 days away, never too early to start a Landon euro trip PBP thread(sorry almost forgot bout you Timmy). Since the Arsenal match is over and the thread that won't die is still alive & kicking, I figured we could move the party over here. Any who, here's a couple of links in case anyone missed them(yeah right).

As an American I hope Landon scores 2. As a City fan I hope Tevez puts in 4. This one in all honesty will be interesting in that Landon will have to pair up with someone of his own pace. If its Bellamy, well then I'm thinking Landon may just receive his first EPL yellow.

I'm quite excited at the prospect of Landon lining up against SWP, Petrov, Bellamy or even Robinho.

City can play a range of formations. The usually play a 4-4-1-1. They can however do the 4-3-3/4-5-1 scheme. At this point however Mancini can smell blood. I think he's going to let this one open up a little more knowing the Citizens need to start making up in goal differential and Everton have been a bit shaky in the back. We may get something close to this:

    ----------Bellamy-------------------
    ----------------Tevez--------------
    -Robinho--------------------Petrov-
    ----------Vieira-------Barry---------
    Garrido-Kompany-Richards-Zabaleta

If City continue form they will like substitue Robinho with De Jong. Ireland for Vieira, and Bellamy with Roque Santa Cruz.

The front four for City can cause a lot of problems if they're clicking. Landon is going to have to help out a lot on the back end and protect the backs. Robinho and Petrov will both rather dribble into the center than play it in on the wing.

Landon and company can succeed if they play a game Everton are not used to, the counter.

It'll be interesting to see Bellamy's pace and Donovan's pace on the pitch together.

Any chance of Lescott being back? Their fortunes have really turned around since he got injured.

A good opportunity for Landon, as City have defensive issues. Or, they did before Mancini at least.

Everton as a team might get steamrolled, however. City is banging in goals like mad, and Everton's defense...um...well...it's getting better.

Landon vs. Bellamy would be fun.

You sitting with the away fans? Your first time to Goodison?

Hope you have a good time, but ultimately go home disappointed ;)

Can see the team being the same except Neill out (if the transfer is correct) with either Distin coming in, if fit, and if not then it will probably see Neville shifted to CB and Hibbert to come in at RB.

    Haha never.

I'm most certain that I'll be singing all the way home :D. I'm only worried if LD scores... I fear I may make a fool (or a dead man) out of myself by cheering.

So thankful this game is on FSC at 9:30 pdt. Should be a semi-wide open affair as Man City is scoring a bunch of goals recently and Everton is playing at home.

    Can't wait.

This is the perfect opportunity for Howard to step up and steal the show with a shutout. Not many seem to be paying attention to the GK, now that the exciting on-loan American is in town.

Donovan is not going to outscore (or outproduce) Manchester City in this match, but it would be awesome if he did. to do so, he'll need help for Everton's defenders and Howard in particular.

The only thing that could make it better is if all of a sudden FSC began their HD programming Saturday morning. :D

Not possible to beat last week's. It was a perfect storm that put ALL the attention on Donovan last week: debut match, got a (somewhat) unexpected start, all the other games were cancelled, top opponent, broadcast on tv, and an abundance of internet streams.

Man City still isn't as big of a draw as Arsenal, he's already played a match, and there will be plenty of other teams playing at the same time. This thread will still be huge, but last week's thread obliterated the post counts for the other top gameday threads in YA history.

Neill has always sucked and the new kid's (forgot the name) better than Hibbert at this point, isn't he? Neville in the center?? [Shudders for Tim's sake].

A Lescott own goal off a low Donovan cross would be perfect way for Landon to open his time at Goodison. :) But I assume Lescott is out.

Mancini has got them playing Italian football so I expect to see a lot of long balls sent over the top for Donovan because I dont see them breaking down his midfield with passing.

Moyes will definitely toy with allowing him to run centrally and roll Osman over the right with Neville.

I actually expect Donovan to look worse this match as he starts to think his way though instead of just play. But in about 3 more matches he should be hitting his stride.

We might even see SWP v. Donovan which would be a REAL speed competition. Bellamy is fast, but SWP is in a different league, I think.

    ---------------Howard---------------

    --Neville---Neill---Heitinga---Baines--

    -Donovan--Osman--Fellaini--Pienaar-

    ---------------Cahill-----------------

    ---------------Saha-----------------

In my opinion Moyes will stick with this exact lineup from last week again.

Yeah, I think this will be it. Only thing that might change is if Distin is back, which could be a possibility as he has trained all week, and Moyes don't want to play Neill due to his impending move. Can't see any other reason for changing the team.
