Impressive so far by Donovan. A lot more offensive in the 2nd half. 1st half, with the exception of his slightly questionable header clearance on the Arsenal goal, I was actually really impressed with his defensive work rate. Pressured the ball well, tracked back...excellent work rate.
To me, it looked like there were 3 or 4 people directly in front of him and a chip to the far post wasn't possible unless someone moved out of the way as he shot.
Saha has scored against the top teams and done it a lot. Whether for ManUtd or Us. There's no way you can say he isn't a great player, injury prone yes, but great. That's one of the biggest dates of the footballing calendar, and he did it.
And honestly... if it was some other Everton player, I don't think anyone here would have really given it a second thought. Understandable that we'll dissect his every move though.
62 Saha with a miss. the interesting part in that sequence is that LD did not make a run afte Saha settled. Donovan with the corner this time from the left side, to the short side of the box, not a great corner, not bad, but to no one particular
No, Saha isn't a great player. He's a good specialized player, one who feeds off the passes of others. But a player who can't make good passes of his own can't be considered a great player in my mind.
Donovan may be staying on, hes been pushed up front playing behind saha judging on the recent play of everton
65 LD draws a foul in the back. LD has stayed on the left since the corner. Snow is coming down a bit harder now. Can he go the complete 90?
Watch more football. He's the sort of player who can turn a game on it's head in an instant. Like Henry used to, and like Henry he never gives up trying the extraordinary and won't get phased if it doesn't come off. He's nowhere near Henry but they have some similarities.
What would you suggest? Mountaineering boots? They are playing in f'ing snow - Lets just take a 5 minute break so everyone can change their boots. hes not the only one slipping out there....
