Classic stuff...... http://www.soccerbyives.net/soccer_by_ives/2010/01/landon-donovans-mexican-commercial.html
haha that's awesome, I wish they had a better quality one w/ English subtitles. I can speak some spanish though So i got the jist (plus Ive's description helped)
The ending is classic man... The audio is pretty rough, but in my mind I'll just assume he says what I think he says.
I'm not sure if this is factual or not....but someone posting comments at the bottom of the youtube link seems to imply that this may have been sort of like a deal sweetener in order to have LD sign with Aguilas del America in Mexico... and how in the end neither LD nor Blanco ended going there... but LD ended up taking the money from the ad deal and went to Everton (temporarily) instead.....
i doubt it.... I don't think LD even considered playing in Mexico. What kind of life is that for an American, to be living in Mexico even to play professional soccer? F that, no offense, but there's a reason why the mexicans are flooding over our borders every day.
Whoa easy there big guy. Mexico is a wonderful country with more beauty and history than the US. If you have money, it's even better. Try visiting sometime (save Juarez...) As for the comment about the America link, I doubt this commercial has any tie into that what-so-ever. Of course, it's speculation on both our parts.
Crossing guard: “Stop right there!” LD: “I am Mexican!” (pronounced erroneously) Crossing guard: “Clearly not, you are..Landon Donovan” LD: “Oh” (no Emmy or Oscars coming anytime soon LD ) Crossing guard: “What are you doing on this side?” (of the border) LD: “It’s just that... winning in Mexico is easier” Crossing guard: (angry voice) WHAT??!? LD: No, no I am talking about Ganagol... Crossing guard: Ganagol? LD: Ganagol the new quiniela* where it’s easier to win because they are only twelve matches Crossing guard : So it will be easier for ME, NOT for you, so go home, orale**, let’s go! LD: Lero***.... Announcer: New “quiniela ganagol” from Televisa Deportes/Sports *quiniela is like a sports lottery (choose home team to win/away team to win/or draw ... as LD said in this case from 12 matches....) ** orale would be like “come on!” *** lero : if one adds “cu” to the beginning of this word, it becomes an insult, akin to a#%hole..... heard in Mexican stadia/from Mexican fans as well if my ears do not deceive me.....so LD must be familiar with it.....
'Lero Like the guy said abouve, which really is c u l e r o, which is basically f a g'. LOL Man, Landon can't act worth shit lol. Funny nonetheless though.
It sounds pretty truthfully if you put 2+2 together. At the end of the commercial it mentions televisa having to do with it, which is club america owners. Televisa has TONS of money. I wouldnt be surprised if they did this to get him some money in his pocket to get him over to America. Donovan said the two only serious offers he was looking at were the america transfer and the one to everton, but in the end he chose to go to everton. Man it would be cool seeing him playing in mexico, and if they won a way into the libertadores, playing in south america!
This is hilarious! Soon he'll be doing local car dealership commercials in Mexico City. "Hi. I. am. Landon. Donovan. I buy all. my. cars. at Mexico City Toyota."
^^^LOL That commercial is just hilarious too, not even intentionally either. It was like right when he got that surgery on his ankle, and you could tell soooo bad how much pain he was in running after his 'fake son' out of the store. Like each step in his head he was like 'aw f u c k, aw f u c k, aw f u c k' lol
Oh you're in trouble boy....! The BEST part of the Landon Donovan commercial is the part where he responds "It's easy to score in Mexico" with the guard's angry "QUE!!?". Busts me up every time.
Cameron's not bad in the VW ad... [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7lcetEx9pnY"]YouTube- #3 The Bunny Hop Goal Celebration - Volkswagen Junior Masters Soccer Tournament[/ame]
