    Per Ives' tweet

interesting. Aris have been a fairly decent top 4-5 side in the Superliga. They were loaded up on Spanish players & a Spanish manager. Not sure if they still are bu they were some quality names on their books. This could be a good loan and good chance to get minutes provided Aris need him. BTW, they have some crazy ultras. Very vocal, very supportive but intense.

At this point I don't care where he goes as long as he can play and gain some confidence. Greece may be the place. I hope this one goes through and work out for EJ.

Aris currently sit 5th in the table. Not many points separate 3rd to 9th. It's jam packed. Aris only have 15 goals for (14 against) so they need some goals and are probably looking to bolster their attack in order to maintain or increase their position in the table. I like this option for Eddie. I hope this works out. I really do. I want him to succeed and maybe, just maybe Aris provides that outlet.

From wikipedia and ther latest lineup, it looks like they lined up with two strikers and two wingers, or maybe three forwards and an attacking midfielder. Their forwards were Koke, who is the team captain and an experienced goalscorer (5 ft 10 in) and Campora, who scored the lone goal (5ft 8 in) and is in his 2nd season. Meanwhile, the two wingers/other attackers were Javito and Calvo, who are both young but have been on the team for a few seasons already.

who cares as long as he plays? We may disagree on these boards on his potential. But for sure, he needs a LOT of games under his belt.

Who cares about what? The team? The league? I was merely just giving a little background info on the club. I'm like you, as long as he plays it's a good deal. Giving a little more background info Hector Cuper is the manager. He's managed a slew of quality strikers so could probably bring out EJ's game. I hope so. EJ needs games and goals, period.

If this deal does go through, I wonder how EJ would adopt to Greece.

Loan? I'm pretty sure Fulham is trying to get rid of his salary.

A decent team in a decent league sounds like a good situation for EJ. No matter where he goes though, he has to step it up.

Good point. A smooth transition (let alone playing time and/or on-field success) isn't a given based on all the discussion of his homesickness/troubles adjusting to English culture when he first got there. At least in England they speak English and he had American teammates to help him adapt. Could be even harder for him to adapt in Greece...

I just hope he doesn't channel his inner-Philipakos while he's there.

Some how I just don't see EJ ripping his jersey off. EJ's a little too mellow for that. However I wouln't mind seeing him a little emotional on the pitch, like he has a chip on his shoulder a la Landon this last year! ;)

Can anyone who reads Greek check my interpretation of this story based on Babelfish and Google Translate.

    http://www.sportdog.gr/v3/article.aspx?article_id=118187&comm_id=169869

It seems to be saying that Aris has a GK who played with EJ at Cardiff, and is recommending him to the club. It looks to be a pretty glowing recommendation as well. Mentions that he is big strong, fast on and off the ball, and is a good person and would improve Aris' offensive capabilities. I think it also says EJ is a good left winger, but not sure where this comes from. :)

If he does go to Aris, he might not be the only american in town. Look at there basketball team roster and former Notable players It includes Reggie Theus. LOL

Juan Dixon also plays for the club right now.

Aris have a game on January 6 at Atromitos. Hopefully EJ gets an opportunity.

Maybe we can change the thread title to reflect the new club.

Really hoping that EJ gets a decent shot at playing time so that he can revive his career.

So, does this make him a Greek Ass Man?

Though... that opens itself up to far too many jokes.

Maybe Grown Aris Man is safer...

Sorry if this sounds stupid but if its official that means all the paperwork and everything is done and EJ is allowed to play. I read they needed to offload someone to open up a non-eu roster spot.

I'm always rooting for EJ. I hope this one works out. GAM in Greece!

    Any chance of streams?

Likely when they play Olympiakos and Panathinaikos etc

EDIT: Scratch that, even some of the smaller games seem to have streams: http://myp2p.eu/broadcast.php?matchid=60689&part=sports
