Even though Herold is supposed to be close to a generation adidas deal with MLS, I wanted to include this tidbit from Ives, just for the sake of completeness: "Sources have also told SBI that MLS is in talks with U.S. Under-17 defender Zachary Herold. The young fullback is believed to have received an offer from a German club before being approached by MLS." http://www.soccerbyives.net/soccer_...-opara-bone-and-tchani-close-in-on-deals.html
Good for him and MLS. I was getitng worried MLS was only offering Generation Addidas deals to only the best of the best.......and leaving behind the ones right behind the top U-17's at this current age- after Victor Chavez committed to UCLA.
Herold should go to Germany over MLS. He really could be a good player with some proper training. Hopefully he isn't going to Berlin, for obvious reasons.
i've only seen him play in the U17's. thought he did well, but when he became fatigued i thought his weaknesses truly showed. i would like to see him try his luck abroad. HOWEVER, i think he is athletic enough to make an impact with a MLS side. Needs a bit of fine tuning but he could be quite a decent prospect
He has all of the physical tools, he just needs coaching. Cologne coaching is probably superior to that of whatever coaching he will get in MLS. Though with McInerney signing, it could be a sign of the reserve league returning, and if it does, MLS is a much more viable option. If it doesn't return, get over to Germany quickly.
Hi! I'm from Cologne. Could you tell me more about Zach? Whats his Position? Is he a Central Defender or a Wing Back? What are his weaknesses and strengths?
Zach has signed with MLS. http://www.soccerbyives.net/soccer_...ong-five-more-generation-adidas-signings.html
wing back he's a raw talent, and needs some work to fine tune his game but as one posted just beneath you it seems he's agreed to a GA contract with MLS
agreeing doesnt necessarily mean "signed". Seltzer has pointed out there are two bidders and Herold is expected to come up with a decision tomorrow. As far as i can tell he's not etched anything in stone, just yet. http://www.noshortcorners.com/ "UPDATE: Okay, it is just the two bidders and Herold is set to decide over the next week or so. It turns out he had a Cologne trial in early December and came out smelling sweet enough for an offer."
having said that perhaps i simply misinterpreted Ives when he simply said "Agreed". His title says signings but no where have i read he's signed. STILL, he'll probably be off to MLS...
