Re: Close on Both At this point, anywhere within 40 miles of the confluence of the Kansas and Missouri Rivers is fine, even with a wavy roof
Re: Close on Both What i feared was that he was meaning "Unless the world falls apart, we will break ground in 2012."
Re: Close on Both lol thats good. so whens the stadium going to be done exactly if we break ground by this year
Re: "Close on Both": Wizards Stadium Discussion What are the odds that after years of stadium struggles, we open on the day the Mayan predictions come true? Lock of the century. Groundbreakings are mostly symbolic and might not be a guarantee of a stadium (the Red Bulls broke ground at Harrison in 2006), but it would be a very positive step. I think the players and fans need to believe there's some momentum this offseason.
Re: "Close on Both": Wizards Stadium Discussion http://kansascity.bizjournals.com/kansascity/stories/2009/11/09/daily12.html?ana=from_rss Are the Wizards the “other business investments”?
Re: "Close on Both": Wizards Stadium Discussion Well, tomorrow is December 1st. 31 days left for the world to break apart.
Re: "Close on Both": Wizards Stadium Discussion Maybe somebody can take a spoon out to both areas and dig a wee hole on New Years Eve ........ better to break some ground than break promises right? I'll take Legends, not going anywhere near Bannister after dark
Re: "Close on Both": Wizards Stadium Discussion Bump... 27 days and counting. Sitting on the edge of my seat here.
Re: "Close on Both": Wizards Stadium Discussion So.... With the casino slated to go in now, what happens to the plan? It was already going to be a tight squeeze with the stadium on that tiny plot of land, and to have another space hog right there, will the Wizards get totally squeezed out?
Re: "Close on Both": Wizards Stadium Discussion Where's the casino going? Last I heard it was going out by turn 2, isn't that on the south east side of the track? And count me in Mark's group that no news is not good news.
Re: "Close on Both": Wizards Stadium Discussion That's directly south of the proposed Wizards Stadium site, and expansion is landlocked by I-70 to the south. So to re-appropriate the parking for the speedway that will be lost and the parking for the casino, they can either go east of the speedway or north and west.
Re: "Close on Both": Wizards Stadium Discussion See I thought turn two was in the far south east, and turn 3 was directly south (northeast part of the track) of the stadium, maybe I'm completely wrong which is definitely possible cause I know jack about NASCAR. Again I'm also going off of old info. If all that's true I guess it depends on NFM and what they see as better use for their land, whether the speedway wants to/can get the land, as well as how cheap the land to the west of CAB is, because they may be easier to afford (and it's much bigger).
Re: "Close on Both": Wizards Stadium Discussion I thought I'd posted this a bit ago, but apparently it was eaten by the great bit-bucket in the sky.. Looking at Google Maps, my last recollection of the proposed Casino's land plot was that it was based in the "block" bounded by Village West, North Carolina, Richmond and Daytona..
