Well, Ecuador did not qualify, but there should be no reason why we cannot have discussions on the 2010 WC in SA next summer. I personally see Group D as the Group of Death! In bold, those I expect to make it through. I disagree gor group D,Serbia is probably going to make another bad performance like in '06 and leave with their tails between their legs with three losses.And Portugal will probably come out of the group with Brazil,I'm not too sure about Ivory Coast just yet.
I actually think Algeria will snatch the second spot...they're an underrated team and if the US continues on it's course, it will probably lose all 3 matches. I think it will be Brazil and Ivory Coast that come out of that group and I think Germany and Ghana will definitely be the top 2 in their group.
The Serbian NT of today, is not the Serbia of 4 years ago. They won their qualification their group. Look at the quality side they currently have. Serbia's NT

I can tell you right now that Greece isn't going to make it out,and DEJA VU didn't they have similar group with Argentina and Nigeria back when they qualified for the '94 world cup??Also with the way Chile's playing I can't see Honduras leaving the group stage.
I definitely think Chile and Spain will come out of this group by far...I doubt Chile disappoints; I support them and Brazil to go as far as possible to make our continent look good since we're not there this time...

Personally, I won't root for any other SA country other than Ecuador, just like I would not root for England, France or Spain if Germany are out. I got no ties to any of those other countries in South America just like the only tie I have with Europe is to Germany. Once my team is out, I normally go for the NT that is the underdog or the one playing the most beautiful football at the time.

The group of death is group A in my opion , the host country and 3 good teams the rest of the groups aint as though. If Ecuador would of made it we would of been in group A lol, like always we would of been in the hardest group. Im roothing for Spain or Brasil one of them will win the WC.
I haven't made my world cup picks yet but regarding which countries to favor considering Ecuador didn't make it, I associate countries heavily on their political and cultural history. Growing up in America, of course I want the US to go as far as possible. And because I associate all African teams with the continents history I'll always root for an African team over a European team...just my thoughts.

I think SPain's to overrated nowadays to the point where everyone says that they're better than Brazil!!! Tha's B.S to me,although I respect their winning streak that lasted for two years,SPain will never be a world potential like Brazil or Argentina are and always have been.I know I love my national team alot,but it's like me saying that just because Ecuador's team will win the copa america one day they are considered a world potential!Thats crazy,we have a decent and competitive team and that's it. Spain to me isn't a Power house because they always choke in the long run in the world cup.Everyone always gets hyped up about them and end up getting disappointed by Spain.What's going on right now is that Spain has a team like France back in 1998-2001.There team is full of great players right now,but in a few years after those guys are gone,they will become the regular Spain they always were...FLOPS!!
