I'll be there! Hope it has a happier ending than the one other EB event I went to (Collinsville City Hall, 9/11/2007...)
Oh man... I'm definitely there. I can miss a day of work for that. I'll be sporting my Eads Brigade scarf as well (as everyone who has one should). Could the other major announcement be the news of the NASL sanctioning???
They're not going with a different logo than this: Are they? That's a killer badge that would look good on any kit. Perhaps modify it somehow?
apparently no change in logo http://www.stlouissoccerunited.com/St._Louis_Soccer_United/Mens_Team.html
Yeah, but their own release yesterday said that they'd be unveiling a new logo, so something must be different. Maybe they're just going to add the new team name to the bottom, or adjust the colors a little.
That's what they did with Athletica. For a while, when the team was just known as "St. Louis", the logo was mostly grey with some green and "St. Louis 2009" on it; now it's green/blue with some grey and "Saint Louis Athletica" on it.
That's looks almost exactly like the Athletica's logo. I guess this is the male version of the Athletica's logo below. LOL!
<HEADDESK> Do some research, RFR. Or at least think logically. That STL United logo was out there LONG before the Athletica logo was announced. The ownership group is older than the team. The Joan of Arc was a play off of the statue "Apotheosis of Saint Louis", not the other way around.
That logo came out before the '07 Collinsville board meeting. It came out just before the Rapid Reserves vs SIUE game because I remember the group talking to Cooper about it at that game which was played in Mid-August 2007. If you remember, it originally had 2009 under it and the zeros were soccer balls. Here it is: note - that is from a Sept 2007 article
I'm going to try to be there, but I'm not sure yet if I'm working that day. I won't know until late Monday afternoon.
So, do we know any particular place we should congregate, or should I just look for the nutcases in scarves?
Given the celebratory nature of tomorrow's events, Eads Brigade has decided we will be giving the announcement scarves to the crowd free of charge. Quantities are limited. The remaining original scarves will still cost $15.
Man, I wish I could be there. Someone's going to post the details on here as soon as possible, right?
Since I can't be there tomorrow, is there any way I can get the scarf at some future point? Free or paying. Unless you anticipate there being enough people that the limited supplies run out. Which would be awesome to know there's that many people there. =-)
