I know the third stage ends on Nov 22, but does anyone know when the final phase would be played? Would it be on the following week or would they wait a longer time, like a month? Of course, an exact date would be helpful if anyone knows it.

I think the season has to end in December...so most likely it'll end the second week maybe early third, but definitely before Christmas I'd say....

Remember, the game b/t 3rd and 4th place must take place before the FINAL...and also if Liga is the team in the local tournament Final AND they enter the Final for the Copa Sudamericana....some dates couple possibly be pushed back.

I'm pretty sure (hopefully) the Final for our tournament takes place the week of the 14th of December. If not, I'll be really pissed...can't miss this.

The first game of the final is on Sunday Nov 30 and the second game on Dec 6. These dates will be pushed back if Liga advances to the Serie A final and the Sudamericana final.

hope isn't lost yet...it will be decided in the final match day...what is important now is the sudamericana...another trophy must be brought home, and to do that we need to pass through river plate first.

A continuación, recordamos la lista completa de nominados:

    Esteban Dreer (Deportivo Cuenca)
    Marcelo Elizaga (Emelec) - WINNER
    Johvani Ibarra (Deportivo Quito)

    Mejor defensa
    Marcelo Fleitas (Emelec) - WINNER
    Néicer Reasco (Liga de Quito)
    Miguel Ibarra (Espoli)

    Mejor volante
Giancarlos Ramos (Deportivo Cuenca) - WINNER
    Hólger Matamoros (Deportivo Cuenca)
    Fernando Hidalgo (Barcelona)

    Mejor delantero
Claudio Bieler (Liga de Quito) - WINNER
    Ismael Villalba (Deportivo Cuenca)

    Mejor entrenador
    Rubén Darío Insúa (Deportivo Quito)
Paúl Vélez (Deportivo Cuenca) - WINNER

    Mejor juvenil

    Joao Rojas (Emelec) - WINNER

MARCELO ELIZAGA is the WINNER of Spencer de ORO...

I must say right now that I disagree completely with the nomination and winner of Mejor Volante...seriously, out of that whole list Holguer Matamoros should have won..Giancarlos Ramos LOL OMG this is a joke!! Did he pay to win this?!?

I can name off the bat 4 other candidates much better than Giancarlos Ramos or even Fernando Hidalgo....Michael Jackson Quinonez (5 goals; 9 assists), Miller Bolanos (6 goals; 8 assists), Michael Arroyo (8 goals; 6 assists...and remember he came in a bit late into el campeonato), Santiago Morales (6 goals; 11 assits)..oh yeah and also la Hormiga Paredes...

you can't compare Giancarlo Ramos to the other players by the goals and assists because he is a defensive midfielder.

He had a good season, but he doesn't shine as much because of the position he plays, kinda like Edwin Tenorio back in the day

you have a point...but shoot, if they wanted to put defensive mids on here then they should have AT LEAST considered Enrique Vera or David Quiroz...but they have Hidalgo and Ramos on here lol what a joke.

no one knows the dates of this stuff yet...we don't even know how the tournament system is going to work out for 2010 yet, we're finding out soon. I say, give it another month or more before we find out.

On another note, they better finally develop a good system of how to work el campeonato...it's getting on my nerves that they change it EVERY DAMN YEAR

Deportivo Rateros are the new champs of the ecua tournament...

Seriously, AMAZING Final by both although im pissed Quito won...whoever missed it, you missed the best game of the Liguilla. Im disappointed Cuenca didn't win, but even without la hormiga Paredes they still held a pretty effective attacking team.

All the goals were GOLAZOS in this game...especially Ismael Villabla's and Michael Arroyo's.

Arroyo was the MVP of the game...the kid came off the bench and from the second he set foot on the field he caused trouble. I definitely want to see him as a forward for our NT, the kid has a GREAT STRIKE. eff having him as a midfielder, the kids gotta be a forward. He's such a great finisher and has a powerful foot...if he were available, he'd be my first option to come to Liga for next season before Manso, Luis Bolanos, Matamoros etc. I really like the type of player Arroyo is. We'd make a beast out of him.

Arroyo won't be in Ecuador much longer, I give him til this summer if he keeps it up next season. He'll definitely be getting offers soon enough.

One final thing I want to point out....Barcelona and Emelec, you both eff-ed up giving up two valuable players like Miller Bolanos and Michael Arroyo. I gotta give both Bolanos and Arroyo an huge applause for coming a long way from testing positive in their drug tests (and being suspended for 6 months from the ecua league) to shining in their teams this season. Both these kids impressed me, I seriously didn't expect a great come back season from either of them.

Lmao!! and yeah they are champions but this campeonato should be fixed. Its obvious that they want to make it hard for liga. If liga wanted all they had to do was get a good lead on everyone before the libertadores and the sudamericana start. But with this type of campeonato they make it so that liga can't chill at any point or they could get eliminated from the cup like what happened this year. This also makes it interesting so teams could have fresh starts and fans could have a reason to go to the game. You imagine how much fans would go to see a mid or bottom table team towards the end of the season?? This format benefits everyone but the best team in Ecuador.

I didn't mean to insult dep quito with my post, just wanted to be funny... but looks like with their monetary crisis and players' always in a strike, they still pulled it off... and they won the dep quito vs liga series... they had a better record against the "best" team of Ecuador.. u can't undervalue dep quito's achievements this year.. cuenca also had one of their best years.. in the end i couldnt give two cents on who won.. im just analyzing.

Liga was busy playing the sudamericana and had to use subs while Deportivo Quito was going all out after doing horrible in the first round of the campeonato. I have to admit Deportivo Quito has gotten better but now I cant wait to see Liga vs Quito in the libertadores because liga will show no mercy!! LOL

not even because Dep Quito won or anything...

but the Federacion is meeting to review the campeonato once again after another disasterous season business-wise. Many games were played, now in retrospect, that had no significance whatsoever because of the system set up and it really hurt attendance. It was on futbolecuador but it slipped my mind to copy and paste the article. It looks like they laid an egg from a business standpoint, it will probably get changed again next year...lets see what sort of concoction they can come up with now.
