Hey, as traveling fan I just wanted to thank you for the great time I had in Houston. The fans were great, the food recommendations were also.

Yeah, well, I would have preferred a different ending. But I wouldn't have missed it for the world.

My favorite sign of the day was the one under the TA in green.... at first I wondered why they had a green sign.... that said "IMMORAL." Then I made the connection. Very good, guys. :D If I hadn't of lost my camera on the plane last week, I would have taken a picture.

Glad y'all liked the IMMORAL banner! :) I wasn't sure if I made it large enough to be read elsewhere in the stadium.

Here's a closeup of it that I took after the game.

    Great pics Nigel.

I also noticed Hyndman down on the sideline at the start of the match.

I imagine that's as close as he's gonna get to the MLS playoffs anytime soon.

Seattle gave us a good fight but the best team won. Fat Sigi got outcoached. Our men played like modern day gladiators.

STH BRYAN is proud to be the only negative Dynamo supporter who was proven wrong. Everybody else here in BigSoccer consistently stood by the players and coach 100%

    Let’s go Dynamo!

Please. Just get some good ideas from the whip thread. Better yet, go to the restaurant and identify yourself there. ;)

Just got back from the 2009 Dynamo Awards. My evaluation as a $75 per ticket x 2 attendee is that if you went last year, you would have been sorely disappointed this year.

Unlike last year where we were all together, this year there were two classes of attendees, those who paid the big bucks to get up close to the team, and those of us $75 or $100 folks who were in standing room only at the back of the venue and in the nosebleed seats upstairs (although the saving grace was the fact that the DG's were also with us upstairs).

Now the good news - Craig Waibel, an thoroughly decent man actually came back and mingled with us common folk, as did Abe Thompson, and Brad Davis. Abe stood and chatted from some time and actually gave Sarge his first class venue tickets.

Lesson learned for next year - get some folks together and buy a table.

But it is all for a good cause isn't it? Dynamo Charities.

Here's my ticket and the nametag I wore

It's quite obvious since you lived to tell the tale that you didn't meet Dom. ;)

Landín was there mingling too. And when they were introduced at the beginning of the show, Craig and another one (I forget who) tossed some of the set decoration balls up to the balcony, and then after the show started Craig took a bunch of balls up to the balcony and gave them to a group of boys up there. How cool is that?? You think at the LAG Awards show stuff like that happens? I don't.

I couldn't ask my wife to stand around in heels for 2 hours to watch all the important people party. (I wasn't aware of any seats upstairs -- that could have changed things for me.)

We just left and went across the street to Josephine's, had some great Italian food, and then drove back to Austin.

I like contributing to Dynamo charities. Glad it was a nice night. I just wish they had told me what they were asking me to buy so I could have skipped it and returned home Sunday.

How cool that Brad Davis got the team MVP award.

Before I bugged out we got to talk and I told him he was my choice for MVP. I thought his critical goals (especially against SLC) and his service on set pieces, and overall play (12 assists) warranted the honor.

Who had the hand ball Chabala, Mullan, Ching? LOL! I think it's funny that he says it's clear from the TV pictures. I take this to mean it wasn't clear from his POV on the field. Which if there was a hand ball, was why it wasn't called.

If Speed Bump and Door Mat woulda kept their feet instead of doing their best Ruiz impersonation they might have had a better chance scoring.

Going by the absolute frustration on display from Freddie Ljungberg as the match wore on that evening I will say one thing about U of H and the Rob that I might actually miss when we move to the new facility...everything that evening compounds the 3 big traits Houston has going for it in men's pro socecer; 1-The Dynamo way of football, 2-all of us fanatics inside Robertson singing, booing and heckling the hell outta players so close to the pitch and 3-our 60 grade sandpaper playing surface.

Osea, our guys are talented but get stuck in and that can frustrate anyone. Then with the old 1941 era box of a stadium we are all close to the field, our efforts get channeled down to the field and our own players have always said over the 4 seasons they hear evey chant/ beat as the Rob is "hectic". Combine this with a shitty playing surface with bad bounces and worse MLS refs (both teams are dealing with the same surface and refs Freddie) all in a critical and combative return leg...even a veteran of the EPL who has seen it all for club and country, even this strong willed and skilled footballer turned into fustercluck extraordinare and lost the plot.
    No goals.
    No assists.
    At Qwest or Robertson.
Again, thanks for coming out Freddie. You mentally were not prepared for Robertson Stadium and it showed bigtime.

    I told ya so dude.

They'll have plenty of time on all of their 6-7 hour plane flights to Central America for the CCL to dissect the film frame-by-frame.

I suspect that the Sounders fans and FO will now realize the challenges that MLS teams playing in competitions all over the country face (and not always at home, like Seattle did for most of the USOC).

In between bites of his Whopper, I did hear Sigi make a good point that the Dynamo have a bit of an advantage in travel for the CCL.

Was one of the travelling ECS for this one, late to the party here, but took a full day to recover from the flight back and just being exhausted overall from massive drinking the night before, morning of, and giving 120% for 120 minutes

Best away support management I've encountered in MLS, hands down. Our FO could learn from yours big time. They didn't care about profanity or anything else we did, just let us go about our business, so props to your organization for doing it right.

Can't complain about the result, the better team on the day won. We were fortunate not to be down a goal or two in the first half. Not the prettiest game, but over two legs, that's about as hard fought and even as it gets.

Good luck against LA, I hope you guys win that and the cup final too.
