Is it really necessary? Aren't most of us adults who understand sometimes strict interpretation of well defined rules is sometimes worse than managing a situation? I was moderator (with AndyB) of Business and Media back in the day when Oliver Tse was a controversial poster. 90% of his posts were great, sometimes including information that virtually no other poster could provide. 5% were borderline, and the rest were either baiting or taking the bait. Most of the time, he was responding. His appearance had become like ringing the bell for Pavlov's dogs. Many normally sane members of BigSoccer - several moderators in good standing - behaved like a pack of deranged loonies. They posted links to "go get him" in community threads in FFA. In the end, after long discussion in the mod forum, it was decided that it was easier to ban Oliver than start yellow and red carding a score of other posters (including some moderators). Yeah, Oliver is still here - but if he started posting under his own name or as SoccerTV, I'm guessing you'd see the shit hit the fan yet again. Even if he, himself, posted nothing inappropriate. His overt presence "would immediately create a tremendous overreaction". It's not always nice and simple. Do some mods abuse/misuse/misunderstand their authority? Yes. Is it an epidemic? No. Do some bloggers overstep the bounds of taste and/or decorum? Yes. Is it an ongoing problem? I don't think so. Bill's mandate is to provoke a reaction. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. We've all made a mistake in speaking or writing at some time. I'm guessing every last one of us has behaved inappropriately in word or deed at some point. We can call for a lynching party, screaming and hollering all the way. Just quoting Sid about different standards for regulars (and proceeding to blast his Moderation of the forum) gives the impression that you are the one with different standards with respect to the Moderation of the Mexico Forum. Where, may I ask, is your outrage of the Moderation of the Crew Forum....or any number (I dare say most if not all) of the forums that treat their regulars differently?
I pointed out a technical issue with the challenge that you gave someone. Not sure how you have come to such a conclusion. To me, calling someone a "liar" is a serious charge and you had better have strong evidence to back yourself up.

Don't be obtuse, most of the US fans that come to the mexico forum are not there to engage in dialogue; they are there to "rub it in" and basically amuse themselves by pissing off mexicans. Most of those "US fans" are basically little kids that want to throw more shit at us and then play dumb when people tell them to gtfo reading a lot of the bs in the US section is annoying and it nice knowing that in the Mexican forum we won't have to hear about how dirty and unsportman like Mexican players and fans are. However i have come across a certain infraction happy mod that considers me a "sock"; i try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and only complain if they "stalk me." I don't believe that you did the things you claim, but even if you did, it doesn't excuse your racist posts in the forums and blog. I personally wouldn't care if you guys were able to say the s-word or b-word to your heart's content, as long as we'd be able to fire back with comments of the same nature. You haven't been around long. There used to be a Mexican poster with a swastika conveniently hidden under an Atlas logo as his avatar. He used to say things like "negro de mierda" and insult black players. I haven't seen him around anymore so I'm guessing the mods took care of him but he was around for a long time.
